This Week in RCW

Friday, December 23, 2004

(Footage is shown from Darkest Night to the tune of "Fly From the Inside." The panel for tonight's episode consists of Vix at the head of the table, Cynric and Lisa Letty to the left and Dusty Schneble and Chad Collyer to the right.)

Vix: Happy Holidays ladies and gentlemen. We're here working late on the day before Christmas Eve to bring you a look at the action of Renegade Championship Wrestling. Of course the big news in RCW is Darkest Night, which turned out to be the biggest event thus far in RCW history. Three titles were defended successfully, Ronin Fox holding on to the RCW Television Championship in an awesome match with none other than his brother Cynric, who is with us tonight. Shadow defended the Ladies RCW title in a hard fought but odd match with her mentor Naomi Leach. In the end, unfortunately, Jon Z was unsuccessful in taking the RCW Championship from Nykk, though he came incredibly close.

Dusty: Close? What the hell match were you looking at? Nykk showed the world just why he is at the top of this business and why the Heel Stable rules this promotion. The RCW title is staying right where it belongs, just like these belts are staying with the Pyro Twins.

(Dusty holds up his RCW Tag Team Championship belt.)

Cynric: Giving the devil his due, Nykk pulled off an impressive win, but I have to wonder what that match would have been like if Jon had faced him in his prime, before that first injury.

Chad: Prime? Jons still in his twenties, isn't he? He never had a prime in this business. He had no place in that ring on Tuesday.

Lisa: Why not? Id say he earned his shot with all the work he poured into RCW. More than half the people I know here got trained by him it seems.

Chad: That doesn't mean he's title worthy. A student can surpass a teacher, especially once that student has more experience in the ring than the teacher ever did. Besides, there's plenty of people in that locker room who deserve a title match before Jon.

Lisa: And Id imagine you'd put yourself on that list?

Chad: Of course! Hell things would go a lot smoother if RCW would just hand the damn belt over.

Dusty: Yeah, that's going to happen.

Cynric: You going to finally get that elusive PINFALL victory?

Chad: I'll pin your shoulders down any day, just like your little brother did.

Vix: We have heard that despite taking the Aurora Driver after the match ended, Jon Z is not seriously injured, and will be in Nashville this Tuesday for Foundation.

Dusty: Damn, I mean uh...Yeah, damn.

(He laughs, Lisa looks at him in disgust. Cynric ignores him. Chad snickers.)

Vix: With that, why don't we check out some RCW action from Lexington, Kentucky this past Wednesday.

(Matches are shown from the 12/22 event in Lexington, Kentucky. Ronin Fox and Tara Fisher call the action.)

(Silver King defeats Dru Stoke with the Silver Surfer: 54(46/62) )

(Insane Dragon crashes and burns trying to hit a springboard moonsault on Huh after Huh bends over to take a fan's drink. Huh gets back in the ring and drinks the soda as Dragon gets counted out: 61(64/55) )

(Concession Boy Sr. makes Brother Jim tap out to the Hot Pretzel with Mustard after BJ fails to connect with a bible to the head: 68(63/74) )

(Commercial break.)

(More clips are shown from Darkest Night, focusing on the RCW Television Championship match. The camera shifts back to the panel.)

Vix: One of many great matches fought for that title, the match this past Tuesday between Ronin Fox and Cynric was a landmark in RCW, the first instance of brother versus brother in the company. Fox continues his hot streak defending the title.

Dusty: How's it feel being left behind by your little brother?

Cynric: Left behind? I'm not going anywhere. He won that night, and he did it fair in the middle of that ring, we'll see what happens if I get another shot.

Chad: Going to start begging again? It worked for getting that match after all.

Cynric: I never begged for anything here in RCW, and I'm not about to start. I earned that shot, by pinning you in case you forgot, and I'll earn another.

Vix: There was more than just title matches to Darkest Night, we saw some brutal action right from the start when Jason Lee met Apollo Khan.

(Footage is shown of that match.)

Vix: Both men were making their debut in the RCW ring, Jason Lee coming up with the win. He simply dominated this match. Nobody saw this guy coming though.

Lisa: I talked to him backstage and I thought he was going to snap in half when he got to the ring. He just acted like he could swat a fly without hurting it.

Chad: That guy weirds me out.

Cynric: That's scary to think of. You're a total freak.

Dusty: I guess this is just a matter of "it's always the quiet ones." I've seen a few over the years that you'd never expect to be a fighter, then once they get into that frame of mind they just mow over people. I love fighting those guys, they actually give you a challenge.

Vix: Other than finding out the vicious side of Jason Lee, we also saw a bit of the truth behind the disappearance of Cheesecake.

Cynric: Why didn't you say from the start you had nothing to do with it, Dusty?

Dusty: Does it matter? You think Huh would have believed a word I said? Do you think he would have understood a word I said? He came in looking for a fight or two, so he found them.

Lisa: Interesting that he could win against both of you in the space of a week, both times by accident.

Dusty: Damn right by accident. That man is bad luck on legs, and I only hope I can get him in the ring again soon so I can remind him just what bad luck can be.

Chad: I just want to know what the hell this Brother Jim guy's deal is? Why would he want to take Cheesecake anywhere?

Lisa: He thinks the man needs "saving."

Dusty: Well I wouldnt bother, the man is pretty hopeless.

Vix: Well that could be debated further, but we do have some more action to show.

(Matches are shown from the 12/23 show in Clarksville, Tennessee. Zac Hensley and Naomi Leach call the action.)

(Joey Sprinklers defeats Rico Casanova with 'Da Sprinklinator: 56(40/72) )

(Kumiko Indohara makes Lisa Letty tap out with the Indo-Hajime: 62(51/75) )

(Commercial break)

(Swinger defeats Johnny Kashmere with the Swing Thing: 74(69/74) )

(The camera goes to the RCW news desk with Zac Hensley.)

Zac: Good evening. As you may have heard at the beginning of the show, Jon Z has been checked by RCW's doctors and has been found to have no serious injuries. He has assured RCW officials that he will be present for the next episode of Foundation, which will be held this Tuesday in Nashville. When asked what this Tuesday will bring, Jon had this to say.

(Footage is shown of a taped interview with Jon.)

Jon: This Tuesday will bring an announcement of something that will change the face of RCW for 2005. I wont have the details complete, even by then, but the impact might just be felt right away. If youre not curious enough yet, I'll just say that it will involve the RCW Championship, and WrestlingRevolution II.

(The camera shifts back to the news desk.)

Zac: Jon refused to elaborate, wanting to save the surprise. You can find out with the rest of the world just by tuning in to watch Foundation. Also on tap for this Tuesday will be the television debut of Jason Lee as he takes on Insane Dragon. Brother Jim will face Cynric, and Kevin Stone will take on Chris Stylez. The entire Heel Stable will be in attendance, including the RCW Tag Team Champions the Pyro Twins, and RCW Champion Nykk. No official matches have been signed for them, but Jon has hinted that at least one title might go up for grabs in Nashville. That's all we have for RCW news today. This is Zac Hensley, have a good night.

(The camera shifts back to the panel.)

Dusty: Now what the hell is that crap? He can't tell us who's going to have a match and when? If this is Jons first step toward being "that" kind of boss

Cynric: "That" kind of boss?

Dusty: The kind that just lives to spring things on you. The ones that call you to the ring in your street clothes and say, "oh by the way, you have a match...right now!"

Chad: I hate that. It just gets old.

Lisa: Well shouldn't you be ready at all times when you're a champion?

Dusty: Why don't you win a title and tell me?

(Lisa stares at him then looks away.)

Vix: We're just about ready to wrap up todays This Week in RCW. We have one last match to show, Ronin Fox taking on Kevin Stone. You'll see it right after our last commercial break. Stay with us.

(A video is shown highlighting Darkest Night and focusing on Jon Z vs. Nykk. The replay for Sunday 12/26 is advertised: 78)

(Commercial break)

(The match between Ronin Fox and Kevin Stone from the 12/23 show in Clarksville, Tennessee is shown. Zac Hensley and Naomi Leach call the action.)

(Ronin Fox defeats Kevin Stone after a Tail End DDT: 76(77/75) )
