Premiere Showcase.
(The camera struggles to focus to show a bustling crowd of 83 people crammed into a few sets of rented bleachers around a worn down ring. A card table is set up to one side, with Tara Fisher and Jon Z sitting with comically outdated broadcasting equipment set up.)
(The two look into the camera and begin talking, though the sound equipment just produced a buzzing noise.)
(Jon throws down his headset in disgust and grabs a microphone on his way into the ring.)
Jon Z: (testing the mic) Here's hoping something'll work around this damn place.
(He looks up at the crowd, most of them drunk or at least drinking.)
Jon Z: Whatever expectations you have for tonight...throw them out. If you're expecting a show full of "backyard" idiots who hit each other with light bulbs and set each other on fire because they think it'll make them famous, you're not going to see it. Tonight you will see real wrestlers. Tonight you will see future stars. Tonight you will see the men and women who will change the way the Dayton area looks at independent wrestling.
(He looks around at the people who are barely paying attention.)
Jon Z: And beer is half price! (interview rating: 64)
(The crowd pops as Jon leaves the ring.)
Tara: Well, we're finally underway here in FPPVW.
Jon: And we wouldn't be here without the support of Frehley and Criss Alcohol Distribution. Thanks for the help, and from the look of the crowd the delivery didn't come a moment too soon.
Tara: We've got a full night of action ahead of us on DATV, starting off with our opening contest, a 10 man battle royale.
Jon: What better way to get into the action than to see all our active men in the ring at once. Lets go to the ring.
(Someone turns up the boom box that serves as the sound system and "Man in the Box" the unofficial theme of FPPVW starts playing. The ten wrestlers start to walk to the ring, circling it and preparing to slide in at once as Tara calls their names into a microphone one by one.)
Tara: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is an over the top rope battle royale. The competitors, now walking to the ring: Joey Sprinklers, Nykk, Alan Mayse, Cynric, Huh, Kevin Stone, Ronin Fox, Dusty Schneble, Jay Crowe, and Cheesecake!
The Battle Royal.
(All ten wrestlers enter at once and start throwing punches. In the small ring, it's too crowded to do much except brawl. Cheesecake is the first to find his way to the outside as he tried to springboard off the ropes and gets caught by a sidekick from Cynric that sends him over the top. Nykk quickly runs behind Cynric for a german suplex, then stands and goes back to the random brawl.)
(Fox ties up with Alan Mayse and pulls him into an armdrag, holding on for an armbar. Joey Sprinklers grabs Huh and backs him into the corner. Fox leaves Alan down, turning Sprinklers around for a DDT. Huh starts dancing, happy that he got out of the corner, but gets caught in the back of the head by a Styrofoam cup thrown by a fan. He jumps in surprise and ends up falling over the top rope and to the floor.)
(Dusty makes a run at Nykk and gets caught with a boot to the head. Jay runs over to help Dusty up but gets turns around for a northern lights suplex. Alan gets back to his feet and locks up with Kevin Stone as Dusty climbs up the turnbuckles in the corner. Jay trips Nykk and hits three elbow drops in a row before going to help Dusty again. Alan whips Kevin Stone into the Pyro Twins and Jay and Kevin fall over the top rope. Dusty goes over but is able to hold the ropes and slide back in. Ronin Fox hits a side Russian legsweep on Joey Sprinklers and goes outside to the top rope. Before he can jump, Nykk runs into the corner and hurricanranas Fox to the mat on top of Joey. Dusty tries to put Nykk into a waistlock but Nykk reverses it and german suplexes Dusty over the top rope.)
(Cynric attacks Alan from behind and aims a kick into his back that sends face first to the corner. As Alan stumbles around Cynric sets up for the Lift Off, but instead gets backdroped over the top rope. He lands on his feet on the ring apron and goes to climb back in, but Fox is back up and hits a dropkick through the ropes that eliminates Cynric.)
(Fox turns around and is greeted with a kick to the groin from Nykk, setting him up for a powerbomb. He drags Fox to his feet and tosses him out.)
(Joey Sprinklers finally gets up and locks up with Alan Mayse, going behind into a waistlock. Nykk yells to hold him still and goes for a running leg lariat. Alan ducks and Nykk hits Joey, who is sent flying into the first row.)
(Nykk stays at the ropes to yell at Joey and Alan sneaks up to try and push him out. Nykk locks his legs around Alan's head and pulls him along, both of them holding onto the ropes and landing awkwardly on the ring apron. They climb back in and Nykk attacks first with some crisp right hands, backing Alan into the corner. He whips Alan across the ring and charges but gets caught in the head with a boot. Alan hits a clothesline and pulls Nykk up headfirst to set up for a Tiger Bomb. Before he can lift, Nykk pulls his arms free and backdrops Alan, spinning around quickly for a legdrop, then rolls to Alan?s legs to apply the Bellbrookville Ceaderleaf.)
(Alan crawls for the ropes and tries to climb up them to reclaim leverage, but Nykk just pulls forward, keeping the hold on and sending Alan face first into the canvas. He releases the hold, Alan too weak to fight back as he's launched over the top rope, leaving Nykk to celebrate his victory.)
Winner: Nykk (match rating: 45)
Jon: What an impressive debut for Nykk here tonight, coming out on top over nine opponents to stand tall.
Tara: He was definitely the standout performer of the match, eliminating four of the other competitors.
Jon: Well not to be outdone, the women of FPPVW are set to debut. Notice I didn't say "divas." The women you are about to see didn't get their jobs through plastic surgery and anorexia like some I could mention in the business. They are here because they can kick ass with the best of them.
(Tara picks up the microphone to announce the next match.)
(The boombox plays some strange song with lyrics in Japanese before the sound guy shuts it off and turns on the right music while muttering about someone switching the cds.)
Kai Kitta vs. Kara Draxus vs. Naomi Leach vs. Vix
Finish: (All four competitors are tagged in one after another, eventually leading to Kai and Vix facing off. Vix trashtalks and slaps Kai, but it doesn't affect her. Kai kicks to the midsection and whips Vix into an empty corner, rushing after her with a high dropkick. Vix staggers out and is caught with an armdrag and a cover. Kara jumps into the ring and legdrops Kai to break the count.)
(Naomi spears Kara into the corner as Vix gets to her feet and stomps at Kai. Vix whips Kai to the corner and charges. Kai gets a boot up though and pulls herself up to sit on the turnbuckle, pulling Vix back and standing to hit diamond dust. Vix pops up to her feet from the impact and Kai hits the Interceptor for the pin.)
Winner: Kai Kitta (match rating: 47)
Tara: Kai picks up the win, Vix has no idea where she is.
Jon: You have to give her credit though, she stepped up when she was needed. Vix was hired as a manager, not a wrestler, but she jumped at the opportunity to get in there.
Tara: We'd like to take a moment to wish Lisa Letty a speedy recovery. She was originally scheduled for this match, but injured her arm while training. She should be back in fighting shape in a couple months, and I for one can't wait to see her debut.
(Ronin Fox walks out and heads for the broadcast table, he says something to Jon that the sound equipment misses. Jon nods and picks up the microphone as Fox walks away.)
Jon: Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to announce, our new main event will be the winner of our battle royale, Nykk verses Ronin Fox.
(Jon looks around at the crowd.)
Jon: And beer is now 60% off! (interview rating: 64)
(The crowd pops.)
Tara: Before we get there though, we have our first tag contest as The Eccentrics, Huh and Cheesecake take on Jay Crowe and Dusty Schneble the Pyro Twins.
Eccentrics vs. Pyro Twins
(The match is mostly dominated by the Pyro Twins, the Eccentrics trying to mount offense only to screw up and be beaten down.)
Finish: (Cheesecake rallies back with some right hands on Dusty. He kicks Dusty and goes for a powerbomb, but Dusty punches Cheesecake in the face once he's lifted up. They both fall and Dusty makes the cover for a pin, the camera picks up Dusty putting a chain back into his tights.)
Winner: Dusty Schneble for the Pyro Twins (match rating: 43)
(Nykk?s theme hits before the ring can even be cleared.)
Tara: It looked like Dusty had a foreign object in there, did he really think it was necessary to cheat. Up until the last few minutes the Pyro Twins had that match under control.
Jon: You do what you have to, maybe they just wanted to get the match over with so they could get to the beer before it's sold out.
Tara: Well looks like we're not going to find out now, our attention's going over to Nykk.
Nykk: What a surprise. Here we are in Ronin Fox's back yard, and for some reason he's in the main event. I'd never see something like that coming.
(He looks over the crowd.)
Nykk: Wow, we got a full crowd tonight. Did someone sneak the directions to the event on a bar mitzvah invitation? How many of you actually paid to see this?
Tara: He's really endearing himself to this crowd, isn't he?
Nykk: So far you haven't seemed too impressed, only time you get up to cheer is when Jon Z gets up to talk. You go nuts then. You like people's voices that much? I gotta remember you people next time I'm drunk enough for karaoke. You'll make me your personal god! (interview rating: 61)
("Wherever I May Roam" begins playing, signaling Ronin Fox's entrance.)
Nykk vs. Ronin Fox
Jon: Our first singles match, and it's main event caliber. I'd like to remind the crowd while I can that our next offering is just a month away, June 29th. For information on tickets go to ppvrenegade.com.
The match begins slowly with Nykk and Ronin putting on a clinic of their grappling skills, Nykk usually keeping the upper hand while on the mat.
Jon: Nykk's showing his amateur background. He told me before he could have been a much more effective amateur wrestler if he hadn't been so damn nice when he was in school.
Tara: Looks like he's gotten over that now, he's throwing the Fox around hard whenever he gets the chance.
Finish: Nykk lifts Fox for a northern lights suplex, but Fox kicks on the way up and turns it into a DDT. Fox goes for the cover and gets a two count. He pulls Nykk to his feet and gets a boot to the midsection.
Joey Sprinklers runs to the ring with a chair and jumps up on the ring apron as Nykk whips Fox to the ropes, Fox reverses though, and Joey hits Nykk with the chair by mistake.
Jon: That's not a good way for a lackey to impress his boss on the first day.
Fox knocks Joey away from the ring with a right hand and turns to Nykk, who's on his feet but still stumbling. He pulls him back to the corner for a tornado DDT.
Tara: He calls that the "Tail End" I think this one is over.
Fox covers for the three count.
Winner: Ronin Fox. (match rating: 56)
Nykk pulls himself to his feet on the ropes while Fox is outside celebrating. Joey climbs in the ring to try and explain what happened, bringing the chair with him. Nykk grabs the chair and lays Joey out with it then applies the Bellbrookville Ceaderleaf as Joey taps out. The referees (both of them) run out and try and break the hold, which he finally does, sliding out of the ring and walking away looking disgusted.
Jon: Well Nykk's shown his sportsmanlike tendencies.
Tara: If nothing else, he's made himself hard to forget.
Jon: And don't you forget to join us next month for ...(the sounds goes out as Jon talks)
(Jon finally loses it and kicks the sound machine, causing it to explode. The screen goes dark as the copyright information shows up.)
