Road To the Revolution Update-January 11, 2005: Jon Z Bryan Danielson's debut as part of the Road to the Revolution Tournament was one of the most exciting moments I've experienced as owner of RCW. Danielson is truely one of the best wrestlers working today and I'm very proud to have him as part of the RCW roster. As we move closer to RCW Genesis on January 29, the thrill of new blood like this truely makes 2005 feel like a new birth for Renegade Championship Wrestling. After yet another amazing match between Ronin Fox and Brother Jim, I was more than a little surprised to see BJ get his arm raised. Despite the methods he used to gain his victory, the fact remains that Brother Jim has grown as a competitor and is a force to be reckoned with in the ring. Now that Ronin Fox is going into his next match at a major disadvantage, I'm wondering if he can handle the pressure. His only chance to stay in the upper brackets of the tournament lie in his ability to defeat CM Punk on next week's Foundation. Punk is dealing with a lot of momentum after defeating Brother Jim last week and getting the pin as the Second City Saints put down the Pyro Twins this week. Remember that only victories score points in the Road to the Revolution Tournament. Count outs and disqualifications will not have any effect on the tournament standings, only pinfalls or submissions. With Cell B close to resolution, there are three possibilities. A victory for CM Punk in one week will give him a guarunteed spot in the second round. Any kind of count out or DQ will force a tiebreaker rematch to be held between Punk and Brother Jim. If Ronin Fox can come up with a victory, however, all three members of the cell will be tied with one victory apiece and will take part in a one fall three man match. Three tournament matches are scheduled to be taped for Friday's This Week in RCW. Cell E: Kevin Stone vs. Dusty Schneble Cell F: Colt Cabana vs. Rico Cassanova Cell G: Concession Boy III vs. Christopher Daniels |
