Easy Fruit Cobbler
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 large can of fruit or pie filling (fresh use 2 cups)
(Canned peaches is really good!)
Melt butter in deep baking dish (approx. 8x8 in.)

In a medium bowl, add the sugar, flour, baking powder and milk and stir into a batter.  Pour over melted butter. DO NOT STIR.  Arrange sliced fruit on top.

Sprinkle 1/2 cup of sugar over all.

Bake at 325F for 1 hour.
