The Poetry of cecil
I’d fallen asleep,
Lounging in my chair,
Myself and the book
The only ones there,
I didn’t even look,
There’s a clock somewhere,
You tipped-toed in,
From wherever you’d been,
Trying not to wake me,
Groping in the half light
Creeping silently.
But I hear you,
And ask you of your day,
And what did you do,
You come sit on the chairs arm,
You seem filled with vigor
And I’m dazzled again,
By your radiant charm,
Kissing sets my head to spin.
And I pull your slight figure
Closer and you lean to me,
Sweetness you are,
To me,
Later we have some tea,
No sugar please,
Your kiss has sweetened me,
You and me.
Simply lovely.
