The Poetry of cecil
The first rays of today’s
Sunlight touches treetops of gold,
Bold the autumn treasure,
Reds are shimmering in sun and breeze,
So much seasonal pleasure
Caught amongst the trees
Beauty is everywhere,
In songbirds music in the air,
In leaves fluttering in the wind,
In a treasured lock of hair,
The eyes of a lover, a voice of a friend,
And nature as it circles around
Colored leaves that turn to brown,
Then covered with snow, where’d they go?
Then the sun again warms the ground.
There’s a touch of frost,
I’m sure now last summer’s lost,
Held in memory and heart,
Friendships formed are but a part,
Time was spent without cost,
But dividends came pouring in,
Giving me a Lover and a Friend.
