The snow can not reach me here,
I still wait,
I feel cold and know it's near
Outside my window shutter,
I still wait
To see the downward flutter
Covering everything white
And so cold,
Ice crystals in swirling flight
Dancing with a whisper sound,
And so cold,
Meet their fellows on the ground,
Merriment rolling along,
I still wait,
As the window moans a song,
Curtains drawn against the dance,
I still wait
To join in a winter's prance,
Instead I'm in blankets warm,
And so cold,
In this body over worn.
