collect dramatic play prop kits. We store the props in 12x10x15 inch, labeled storage boxes with lids. We are able to stack them on a high shelf when not in use. At Christmas we have a manger and dress up clothes for shepherds, angels, kings etc. A collection of goodwill scarves, mittens and snow things go in the housekeeping area in winter.

Tending to Baby Jesus- Submitted by Cheryl

Hang a glittering star over a quiet corner in your daycare. Under the star, place a rocking chair & a doll sized manger (can be made from a cardboard box & a little hay). Inside the manger, place a doll, wrapped in "swaddling clothes." Allow the children to care for "Baby Jesus."

Santa Dress-Up- Submitted by Carol

We have a Santa suit in our dramamtic play area that I made years ago from a large adult sweatshirt. I sewed a pocket on the inside of the tummy area and stuffed it with fiber fill and sewed it up. I sewed a long rectangle of white fur down the front and sewed a black cloth belt to the back. The belt fastens in the front with a couple of velcro strips. Because it is attached in the back it is never lost. We sewed a 'beard' of white fur to a hat and it is a riot to watch the kids play in it!
