One Little, Two Little Chickies- Submitted by Sherry

The following toe-tapping song will add a little rhythm to this counting lesson. In advance, cut out ten felt chick shapes. Line up the chicks on a flannelboard; then sing the song shown, touching each little chick as you count. When students are familiar with this activity, set the chicks near your flannelboard for youngsters to use independently.

(sung to the tune of "Ten Little Indians")

One little, two little, three little chickies.
Four little, five little, six little chickies.
Seven little, eight little, nine little chickies.
Ten little chickies say, "Cheep! Cheep! Cheep!"

Six Little Ducks -Submitted by Patrisha

Six little ducks
That I once knew
Fat ones, skinny ones,
Fair ones, too
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack

Quack, quack, quack,
Quack, quack, quack
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack

Down to the river
They would go
Wibble, wobble, wibble, wobble,
To and for
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack

Quack, quack, quack,
Quack, quack, quack
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack

Back from the river
They would come
Wibble, wobble, wibble, wobble,
Ho, hum, hum
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack

Quack, quack, quack,
Quack, quack, quack
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack

Hunting for Eggs- Submitted by Sherry

Hunting for eggs
Under my bed,
I found one in a slipper,
And the egg was colored red.

Hunting for eggs,
Now I have two,
I found one in the closet,
And the egg was colored blue.

Hunting for eggs,
What a lucky fellow,
I found one in a bucket,
And the egg was colored yellow.

Hunting for eggs
Where none could be seen,
I found one in a shoe box,
And the egg was colored green.

Hunting for eggs,
Quick as a wink,
I found one in the garden,
And the egg was colored pink.

Red and yellow,
Green, pink, and blue.
I found five eggs
How about you?
