Our Hero, *Nasik |
Taken from HH Reese's book on the Kellogg Horses: "Lady Wentworth stated that "Nasik is a magnificent horse of the type best liked by the Bedouins, having style and quality in a superlative degree"." Reese adds, "When it came to animation, *Nasik was unbeatable and his trot was better than most Arabs." *Nasik was imported from Crabbet Stud to Kellogg at the age of 18 and lived until age 30. He sired 32 foals in America. I am striving to preserve his lines, particularly through his son, Farana, and am dedicating this page to *Nasik and Farana If anyone has any photos not seen here, I would dearly love to have them to add to this collection. |

The picture above shows the parade of stallions at Islington in the early 1920's. Led by *NASIK and Skowronek. The chestnuts on the back wall are Nureddinn II and Rasim. From an unfinished watercolor done from life by Miss M.J. Stevens. |
This page is under construction---I'll add tidbits as I have time and find them -- assistance gladly accepted. |
