Portrait Of Another Enigma

A Little Bit About Me:

With A Photograph That Would Scare Snakes

I decided to get silly and put some information and a picture (translate: mugshot) of myself, just so you'll know who owns this site and keeps the articles and pictures coming. As a matter of fact, I finally got my scanner fixed and have scanned all the photos from "American Terrorist." They will be used on the page where the chapter summaries of my novel are posted.

I'm a published writer, as you may know from reading this site, but have been very slow in finishing my second book. The first was autobiographical and this one purely fiction---don't want to go that way anymore. Besides, in fiction, you can always claim that "any resemblance to anyone living or death is purely co-incidental."

I'm not married and go out from time to time, but I'm pretty much of a loner. That's great for my writing career, but not so wonderful for my social life, or lack thereof. Still, I'm not an unhappy person---I just get rather bent out of shape when certain political views meet with my extreme disdain. The death penalty is one such subject. I put up this site to give people an idea of how precious any life is, even the life of a mass murderer and that none of us has the right to take a life. I don't give a rat's ass how some malcontents try to "justify" capital punishment----they are breaking the law and playing God, just as the criminals do.

Some introduction, eh? I live in Canada, about 120 miles west of Toronto, Ontario and am bracing for our usual brutal winter. I have a cat who is absolutely the love of my life, named Julius. He sleeps soundly on my couch while I sit here and type my fingers off.

I love to run and power walk and am training for the London (that's the city I live in) Marathon this coming May. A recent bout of pneumonia put me temporarily out of commission, but my strength is gradually coming back and I even got part of my apartment cleaned up.

I won't blather on and on---I'm such a dull subject. I hope you keep coming back, as this site is only half finished. If need be, I'll continue it on another site, but that won't be for awhile.

While reading this site, you'll also learn that I write to a number of death row inmates at the US Penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana. I wrote to Tim quite a lot and even got a response from him. His writing is hard to read but I managed to plough threw it. He certainly was a complex and, in many ways, passionate man---he just became extremely misguided during the years prior to the bombing.

There. Sick of me now? Okay, I'm out of here. Thanks for stopping by. I enjoy your supportive and fascinating e-mails. It's good to know I'm not the only one who saw the good in Tim McVeigh, despite his awful crime.

I really should put a sign under my picture that reads, "Don't Let This Happen To You."
