Summary For A Novel-In-Process

First of all, I realize this page will undoubtedly draw a lot of fire, but then, I'm not out to win any favours or anyone. Please read the following with an open mind, for this is merely going to be a fictional piece of work, based on Timothy McVeigh and his life. I am going to post three chapters of my novel, which deals with a woman's bizarre attraction to a major criminal whose days on earth are numbered. It is my hope that, after reading the summary of this book, you are able to see past the heinous crime he committed and find a somewhat chilling portrait of a young man whose uncanny ability to attract a certain kind of following by one whose own demons are able to overcome the hatred that most feel for Mcveigh and his drastic and shocking attempt to let his desperate voice be heard by a gvernment that seemingly has no compassion or undstanding. So, what follwows is a brief summary of the book, which I am hoping my publisher at Mosaic Press will deem it worthy of publication.

The above picture is perhaps the epitome of the angry and indignant soul who, dressed in the orange jumpsuit that brands someone a criminal, even before the trial. People outside cursed and shouted at the man who seemed to be the brains behind the worst act of terrorism in the history of the United States. There he was, in his army brushcut and thin, almost fragile build, a stark image of the decorated war veteran gone terribly wrong. Who was this enigmatic and, in an odd and peculiar way, charismatic twenty-seven-year-old master of destruction.

When you read the outline of my book, I hope that anyone reading this will be able to mentally step away for a few minutes and gain valuable insight in Timothy McVeigh. Don't get me wrong, those violent and nightmarish actions, perpetuated on so many of the bomb's victims, survivors and relatives of the deceased were beyond heinous. Those people will never get over the tragedy and despise McVeigh as they'd never loathed anyone in recent history.

However, there is another side to all this, a side I am certain most of you reading this will find beyond reproach and would deem me a blind fool. That reality is that it is very unlikely that this very thin man with large eyes devoid of the kind of evil that, say, the devil would show on his very ugly visage. No, Timothy McVeigh is, as the song, "Peter Pumpkinhead" states "(He's) a lot like you and an awful lot like me." Find that fraught with disturbane and anger? Well, I don't expect that this man has much of a positive influene on mowt of you---I just want to show you another side of the equation./B>

In my novel, I am changing all names, dates and places. Bear in mind that most will know to whom I am referring. What will follow on this page is a detailed summary of my book. Later, three chapters will be posted here. As a quick note, the woman telling the story is pattered after myself. Why on earth would I be intensely attracted to a mass murderer? Believe me, I'm as much in the dark as all of you. Perhaps, undereath it all, I can relate to Timothy---I'm most certainly not a killer or a deviant of any kind--just a Christian who is bound and determined, in the letters I write to him, to let him see the lights of a heavenly love before he is put to death. Let him rebuf me--I don't give up easily.

I will list all twelve chapters. They are not completed---indeed I finished the book summary a short while ago and had written the "death camp" chapter, among others. The manuscript needs a great deal of work, but sharing parts of it on this forum might help you to understand why I felt caring and compassion for the man that Time called, "The Face Of Terror."
