Cinder Block - RETCHING RED (USA)
RETCHING RED are an established Hardcore punk band out of Oakland, California. They have been around since the summer of 2004. Before that lead singer Cinder Block (formerly Cinder Bischoff) was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. After as series of local theatre productions, Cinder moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. She's been in many bands since the mid 80s but formed the band Tilt in 1992. Tilt however were the most successful outfit and got signed to Lookout and then Fat Wreckords. They put out 4 albums and toured all over the world. They eventually split in 2001 and after a short stint in Fabulous Disaster, Cinder formed the hardcore punk rock band Retching Red with Mike from Oppressed Logic whose now her husband. Retching Red are now touring worldwide and have a new record due out soon. Her raw vocal style is influenced mostly by male singers or a coke induced Janice Joplin maybe. Cinder is also the co-owner of Cinder Block Inc. a merchandising and licensing company that started in 1989 on a Berkeley sidewalk with future Tilt guitarist Jeffrey Bischoff.
