Over at The Stronghold there is a whole section devoted to scenarios. They are mostly very good scenarios that look like they would be a lot of fun to play. But none of them seem very generic, that you could safely show up with your 24AP favorite army and decide which scenario to play after the fact of showing up. With these ideas in mind, I developed a few guidelines for the new scenarios that I would be working on:
1. Each scenario would be based around a 24AP army on each side. Some scenarios would reduce the number of AP available to a given player, but if anyone showed up with 2AP there would be no worries.
2. There would be no major rewriting of the rules. There might be new additional rules, such as reinforcements (out of the original 24AP, naturally, or a new scenic feature) but nothing that would change any existing rules except perhaps to limit them a little. Except about how the game is won. That needs to be changed from scenario to scenario.
3. Aerials pose quite a problem for many of the scenarios I have in mind. I personally find Aerials to be annoying and overbalanced (even if I can't win with a whole amy of the foul things!) They will be suitably discriminated against.
The following are the three sections of Project: Scenarios:
Scenario Rules
This is where all of the new rules referenced in the various scenarios are kept. Some of them will work fine in regular games of HotT as well.
The Scenarios
An indexed collection of new scenarios for HotT, including a generator for creating scenarios with random force sizes and victory conditions for each player.
Scenario Determinator
This is simply a randomizer table to help determine which scenario should be played if no one can agree or no one cares.
