| This gravitation site is still under construction. Hopefully it will be finished in a few weeks. Gravitation is the story of Shuichi and Hiro, two friends who have been struggling to get their band, Bad Luck, noticed. They finally get a recording contract, and just when everything seems to be on the right track, their train derails, Shuichi, the band's songwriter, has hit a creative dry spell. As he takes a midnight stroll through the park thinking about his music, Shuichi sees a figure: the famous author Eiri Yuki. After catching the stray pages of Shuichi's lyrics, Eiri declares that he has 'zero talent', leaving the singer speechless. (even more so than before) Back at the studio, things spiral ot of controll for Shuichi. The studio wants to add another member to Bad Luck, and thier longtime manager is fired. Shuichi rebels and goes back to the cool but cruel Eiri, who saves Shuichi from himself by becoming an emotional anchor. Shuichi is beyond frustrated. After all, he's confused about these strange new feelings towards a guy, and he's dealing with so many uncertainties. He can't decide if Eiri's attachment to him is real or some sort of twisted game. Fortunately, Shuichi's other friends help him do some much-needed growing up-if for no reason other than to remain close to Eiri long enough to sort this all out. Newtype USA Review The animation in Gravitation is something special. With highly pixilated real life scenes fading into and out of the animation and the backgrounds, there is just enough of a real world link to add another dimension to Gravitation. The other production aspects of Gravitation are pretty clean, too. With catchy tunes kicked off by the opening theme 'Super Drive', Gravitation's soundtrack is as sharp as the artwork. But what really sets Gravitation apart from a lot of other titles is the masterful writing. These very real characters let their vulnerabilities show. The depth of emotion that's transferred between the characters, as well as the uncertain circumstances of life and love that are portrayed, add an enormous amount of power and impact to the story. If you can enjoy a deeply moving love story with very human characters set against the stuggles of stardom, then you'll like Gravitation. - Gerry Poulos |
