| "Stars On Strings" Marionette Ensemble is the outreach branch of the Puppetry Arts Center of New Orleans, where learning is "child's play." Some Productions are designed to highlight the unique culture and history that gives New Orleans its special flavor. "WHERE Y'AT!" for example, brings to kids all the color, fun and the excitement of the traditional Mardi Gras event, King Rex greets the crowd. His Court Jester amuses with his antics.. The Jazz Band gets toes tapping. The King's Chef cooks up some fun and spice. The "Second Liner" jumps in to lead the Kids' Parade. "Freckles" invites the audience to join in. |

| Performances by master puppeteers are in a fast paced musical variety style, with large half life-sizesized, short strung Marionettes. All puppets are made by hand and are lively, colorful and guaranteed to set imaginations soaring. They are skilfully manipulated with lifelike actions to walk, dance, sing and play music. Performance length is 45 to 60 minutes. Suitable for all ages. Includes exciting audience participation. The puppeteers work in full view of the audience, Concert Style, adding extra dimension. They consider the Marionettes to be their instruments, like the violin or cello. By pulling on the strings to move the puppets, they provide a dramatic visualization to the rhythm of the music and thus draw a corresponding emotion from the viewer, Children and adults alike are charmed by the magical appeal of these delightful Marionettes. |
