Maschinenfest - Aachen, Germany 2000
Pictures From Maschinenfest @ AZ Bunker -- Aachen, Germany -- October 20-22, 2000

The alarming sounds of NKVD energized the crowd and their performance brought forth a sustained cheer, forcing an encore despite the fact that their alloted time had expired. [SY]

Andreas Schramm firing up the crowd with his maddening "Distorted Disco" sounds [SY]

Winterkalte blasts the crowd late into the night. Their performance rejuvenated the exhausted crowd and incited such fits of hyper dancing that the ceiling was literally raining sweat back onto the crowd! [SY]

And on the third day...Monokrom unleashed a ferocious assault, combining the sleek yet powerful electronics of Tim K. & Phillip M. with the bludgeoning assault of Andi S. & Andrea B., and some humorous sampling work. [SY]

Some American nut, thinking he knows how to operate all of that complicated DJ equipment! [SS/JS]

That same character, getting the hang of it... [SS/JS]

Now we're talkin'!!! BIG THANKS to Thomas and Grit for giving me a DJ spot, and thanks to everyone who came up and asked about what was playing and / or offered encouragement or support. I was proud to represent Rituals at Maschinenfest, and honored to take over after an amazing set by the legendary S. Alt -- a very tough act to follow. Hopefully, I'll be invited back next year! [SS/JS]

Scott Sturgis, myself, and Crystal. [JS]

A small crowd waits outside the bunker for the next concert to begin. [SS/JS]

My girlfriend Val & Jenny Sturgis sharing some lively conversation while taking a break from the musical onslaught in the concert hall. [X]

Mario [Wattie] Walschaerts inspects the DJ booth. He was the first DJ to spin at Maschinenfest, and he rewarded us with an amazing set, featuring tunes by several Belgian artists! [X]

Mick Harris, a.k.a. Scorn who, appropriately, appears to be disintegrating in this picture. His set of insanely-twisted dub was among the most intense at the entire festival. [X]
