Hello....I am Ari Purbayanto, Ph.D., an associate professor and researcher at Department of Fisheries Resource Utilization, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Bogor Agricultural University. I was born in Kota Gajah, Bandar Lampung, and growing in Palu city, Central Sulawesi until the completion of a higher education at SMA Negeri 1 Palu. I got an opportunity to continue my study at the Bogor Agricultural University in 1984, and graduated as a Bachelor in Fisheries from Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Fisheries IPB, in September 1989. Working as a lecturer and researcher from February 1990.
Master of Fisheries Science, M.Sc was obtained from Department of Marine Science and Technology, Tokyo University of Fisheries, in 1997. M.Sc thesis: "Survival and Selectivity Studies for Japanese Whiting Sillago japonica in Sweeping Trammel Net". Doctor of Philosophy in Fisheries Science, Ph.D was obtained from the same university (Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, since October 2003), in 2000, with dissertation: "Behavioral Studies for Improving Survival of Fish in Mesh Selectivity of Sweeping Trammel Net"
