Perception
HOME

in the darkness I see shadows

in the light I see shapes

*

I close my eyes and see nothing

I open them and I see everything

*

life is a matter of perception

*

you can look in a mirror

and behold beauty

look again

and see evil

*

look into the sky above

and see angels in the clouds

look again

and see devils

*

the ground you walk on

everyday

is the ground I walk on

too

*

you look into the sky

and see the same sun

that shines over

a new born baby

and

a fresh dug grave

*

through the womb of the same mother

can come two children

who will walk two different paths

one will be a criminal

the other

a priest

*

the same water that creates a rainbow

can drown a human being

*

the same knife that cuts an apple

to feed a hungry child

can murder your best friend

*

so many tears

will fall down your face

with so many reasons

one for sorrow

one for pain

one for heartache

another of joy

one for a loss

one for a gain

*

a smile can mean so many things

that you can’t figure them all

*

a prayer can pray so many things

you can’t pray them all

*

a man can do so many things

I wish I could do them all

*

a tear can course down my cheek

and another straight down yours

mine of anger

yours of joy

and ours of love

*

look into the darkness

look into the light

close your eyes

and open them

look into the mirror

*

do your will

have your way

*

perceive life as you wish

*
