SONGS
(But not mp3s.  Gomen ne.  Just idle prattle about said songs. But idle prattle has its value, too, no da.)
(The cast of Fushigi Yuugi apparently putting on a production of H.M.S. Pinafore.  Note the fact that Nuriko has poofy sleeves on his shirt.  -_-() )
Okay! Here's the part where I prattle idly (see above note) about the songs in Fushigi Yuugi.  ^_^ Alas, I have no sound files that will fit on my site, though I might get some later...I'll have links pretty soon to some cool places to go to obtain them, though.  I'm really doing this cuz I'm bored and I feel like commenting stupidly on a bunch of pretty cool songs, but who knows, some people might find my opion helpful (heaven forbid).  It's no secret that FY has some of the greatest collective soundtracks, so celebrate! **celebrates**
Mouse-chan's Top Five ^_^
5) Ochanoko Saisai Hengen Jizai: sung by Chichiri (a.k.a. Seki Tomakazu)
This is such a "bopping" song!! Very cool and upbeat, with "No Da"s galore. ^_^ It moves pretty quickly, and is hard to sing along to, but once you get the hang of it, it's really cool! You can impress your friends at parties and stuff, or whatever you like.  We also get little commentaries throughout the song by Chichiri himself, such as, "This is a really hard song to sing, no da!" ^_^ And, of course, we sympathize with him, for, being FY addicts, we naturally attempt to learn the words to all the cool songs, this being one of them.  You can find it on the Vocal Memories CD, or download it from one of the sites I intend on posting in the near future.
4) Perfect World: sung by NURIKO!!! (a.k.a. Sakamoto Chika)
Yay!! Nuriko!! Seriously, though, 'Perfect World' is so pretty...it would be one of my favorites even if Nuriko DIDN'T sing it.  (Well...maybe not if Mitsukake sang it.  Or Miboshi, which really wouldn't make a lot of sense. But you get the point.) It's so cute when Nuri-chan tries to say 'Perfect World'!! He's just so incredibly kawaii!!! NURIKO!! AHHHHH!!!  **takes Ritalin and recovers** Ahem...beautiful song, and one of three that I've managed to pick out on the piano!!! It's only on the OVA BGM album, I think...I forgot the exact name of the thing, but I shall check.
3) Dengon: sung by Hotohori (a.k.a. Koyasu Takehito)
Oooohhhh, this song gives me chills when I listen to it! It's so cool!! This is the Hotohori Montage Song from Episode 48.  Takehito-sama's voice is VERY nice, even though I've heard some people claim he can't sing.  I admit he has a decided Kermit-the-Frog Complex, but I still say he's got a wonderful voice.  Especially in this song.  (Oddly enough, I think it sounds somewhat like a Hebrew song.  ~.^;; BUT...that's okay.) For some obscure reason, this song, to the best of my knowledge, is on the Seiryuu Counter-Attack CD!!! WHAT THE HELL??? Dear me.  Doesn't make a lot of sense, I guess.  I mean, it's HOTOHORI, for crying out loud.  He's kinda...THE EMPEROR OF KONAN???? **sigh** Oh well.  I didn't design the thing.
2) MIZU-KAGAMI: sung by Chichiri (a.k.a. Seki Tomakazu...again)
Chichiri gets really depressing and deep and un-masked in this song, but it's a REALLY awesome song.  His other two are kinda bouncy and "Lalalala, look at me, I'm a monk with a silly face who says 'No Da' all the time, wheeeeee!!" This, on the other hand, shows a side to Chichiri that we don't ever really get to see in the series.  Not until the 2nd OVA, really, from whence MIZU-KAGAMI came.  (Note: I have no idea under the sun why it's written in capitals.  However, every time I see it typed, that's the way it is, so I'm just assuming it's the way it's supposed to be.) Apart from the cool character-development stuff, it also has a cool melody, and is easily sing-along-able, since a) there's both an instrumental and a karaoke version of it floating around on the net somewhere, and b) the chorus repeats itself, so it's less difficult to memorize. ^_^ It's on the Best Vocal Collection CD from the OVAs.
1) Otome Ranman: sung by Nuriko (a.k.a. Sakamoto Chika, again!)
Okay...if you didn't guess that this song was my fave, you haven't gotten the message of this page. ^_^ It's so cute!!! Nuriko is so ADORABLE!! Awwww, he's singing about how pretty he is... Every time this song comes on my tape, I stop whatever it is I'm doing and take a sing-along break. That's right, I'm a spazz like that.  But hey, it's a fun little song!!! One might actually make up choreography for it and dance along with the music, if one were so inclined...not that I have, of course... heh heh... And Chika-sama's vocal inflections are VERY funny and Nuriko-ish.  Yay, Otome Ranman! Oh, and it's on the Vocal Memories CD.  ^_^
