B-day? January 23, 1980
Location? Virginia, USA.
Education? I graduated
in May 2003 from JMU with a Bachelor's degree in music composition and
music industry. One of my goals in life is to hear some of my dance-pop
tunes on the radio and in the dance clubs. For now, I'm working on composing
my music on the side and am a member of a songwriting club (SAW) in the
area.
I am interested in the possibility of
getting a master's in computers or information technology or something like that. For now, I'm looking into getting Network+ certification. Lately, my employers have me working on improving the knowledge database and I also really enjoy that. I also like the idea of possibly becoming a Web Application Developer.
Career? Helpdesk technician / Network Engineer
Other Side Jobs/Professional Activities/Organizations?
1) I am a member of SAW. In July 2004, I became their publicity director. In December 2004, I became a co-webmaster. I get a small monthly stipend, so I'm actually getting paid for my music degree... sort of.
2) I am currently taking guitar lessons.
3) Every once in a while, I'll work temporary part-time jobs whenever needed: 1) Working as a receptionist at a car dealership. This was the first company that I worked for since moving to the area. 2) Doing data entry for another former employer. 3) Working at a computer lab at a local college.
4 ) I have also joined an alumnae chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota. Honestly, I have not been very active with this group due to time issues.
Hobbies?
Lots. Music (writing, performing, & listening), computers (esp. the internet, web design, games, and fixing), jewelry making, making origami
gift boxes, other crafts, sewing, stamp collecting, astrology, hanging out with friends (does that count???), garage sales, thrift stores, selling stuff online, doing volunteer work, cryptograms, etc.
Instruments? clarinet,
flute, and I am currently learning the basics of: voice (mezzo-soprano), piano (keyboard), guitar.
What three adjectives describe
you? Quirky, (too) nice, ambitious
