| We learned this week that Pisica, who owned isa4uonly, died suddenly after a routine teeth cleaning. Isa, our hearts go out to you during this rough time, and we dedicate this issue of the newsletter to you and Pisica. He is happy and healthy once again, and will be waiting with Fluffy at the Bridge for your arrival. |
| As pet lovers, we know that at some point we will have to say goodbye. But knowing that doesn't make it any easier when that time arrives. How do we handle the death of our beloved pet? When do we decide that euthanasia is necessary? How do we handle the grief and guilt that almost always follows the death of our pet? |

| Sudden Death |
| As responsible pet owners, we understand that at some point, we will probably have to decide on euthanasia. However, occasionally that decision is taken out of our hands. An animal can die suddenly for many reasons, the least of which is cardiomyopathy, heartworms, or poisoning. In rare cases, an animal may have a reaction to anesthetics used in routine procedures, such as neutering or teeth cleaning. In many cases, sudden death is harder to deal with than euthanasia, as it was unexpected and the owner was not given any time to grieve. At times like this, it is of utmost importance that the grieving owner be given unwavering support from friends and family. Often, simply talking about the deceased pet helps immensely. |

| We also pay special tribute to four kitties who owned Paul (maddog32211). They died tragically in a house fire on February 12, 2002. Special prayers for Kaylee, Purrbox, Leia and Maniac, as well as Maniac's unborn kittens; rest in peace, little ones, and know you were loved deeply. |
