A Barbarians Tale
The Thunk Chronicles
Many have forgotten how power used to be obtained. It used to be easy, the strongest physically had the most power. Eventually, with respect to ones elders the amount of power one had pertained to the amount of sons he acquired over the years. The amount of land and wealth one had was the next change in power. The next, precious metals and such that were easy to carry and easy to show ones wealth. Then people began to hoard and attempt to hide their wealth within monetary notes, pieces of paper saying how much they were worth. This paper had no worth physically in it's elemental state but still contained power only to those who used it. This paper changed to plastic and ones whole life could be seen through codes and ones wealth was dictated by the type of plastic used or how many pieces one acquired over his or her life. On top of all this, knowledge, was the purveyor throughout these changes. Not brute force, not the process of evolution, not physical strength.

We have begun to disregard the process of evolution. The process dictates that the superior species will dominate over the older, weaker species. It's not happening, or else the most powerful man and or woman on this planet should be the most intellectual and physically perfect human.

What if things changed. What if our most primal thoughts and instincts of survival had to be rekindled. What would happen to the world if the one thing that powers everything technological were to vanish. Who would survive. Those who thrive on this power would be at the greatest loss.

Imagine a Solar Flare, Now imagine that the same solar flare somehow created around itself a continuous electrical mass that bombarded the planets atmosphere consistently. Imagine that this phenomenon to be so powerful that it would not only set electrical currents in flux it would also drain them.

What happens? In one word, Chaos. Nuclear explosions from power plants destroy all life around it. Those that required this power to live are now statistics on the evolutionary scale. Wars break out. Weapons of mass destruction are now powerless. Countries so powerful before now cower, sick and twisted by the biological warfare that they couldn't contain any longer. Who survives? The ones that didn't need this power in the first place... The fastest form of transportation turns to animals once again. The global population is gradually decimated. World powers fall, Governmental rule turns to city-states which then turn back to small villages because of internal differences.

Three types of people survive...
The first, lovers of peace, those who give commune to nature and see all things as done for some sort of cosmic reason which they cannot fathom yet still attempt to look for. They are the Ip-dowen. *Everything should live.*

The second, purveyors of peace, those who force their ways onto others for the greater good of survival. They are the Elduk-mai. *Everything necessary should live.*

The third, destroyers of peace, those who wish to find the technology of the past once again and use it to their advantage against all those weaker. They are the tribes Muctua, Hawdon, Eret-ui, Yantow, and Reginja. *Those who are in the way shall die.* They are about 90 percent of the world population. They fight only for selfish reasons and their leaders are always those who are strongest in battle. Unfortunately, those whose strength is greatest usually lack intellectually, therefore these groups are extremely chaotic. They fight amongst each other in hopes that they will someday conquer the world. Some of these tribes aren't entirely Evil. Some, like the tribe of Hawdon, have retained some dignity and have found that one can gain power by doing good.

This story, like many others, starts with the birth of a child. One whose fate shall shape not only this world of chaos, but also, in time, other worlds.
