Background: The DBSC rolled slowly down the hill, smoldering ashes filling it's interior as the Sonz of Mojo failed in their final battle against the darker side of Khazan, the unbelieving side. Yampu's enforcers, John and Corey burned happily inside the blue Ford Ranger, their lifes draining away in a painfully slow death. With their dying breaths, each one of them uttered some fairly harsh words about the joys of burning alive, and with that, they both faded into nothing, oddly reminiscant of Yoda and Obi Wan Kenobi as they died so many years ago on film. An angry mob formed at the bottom of the hill, waiting for the famous smiters of unbelievers to reach the bottom of said hill so they could have their revenge. They quite obviously weren't too happy at the fact that they had been forced into worshiping a donkey. The truck rolled itself to a stop just in front of the mob, and they quickly proceded to beat the infamous Dark Blue Smiting Canoe with anything they could find within their angered reaches. Rocks bounced off the top, boards and lead pipes rang with the sound of each strike until the DBSC exploded mightily, wheezing slightly with the sound of expelled holy energy that it had been imbued with in the earliest days of the SoM. Hours later, the angry mob left. Slowly the final remnants of the reign of holy smiting blew away on the wind, leaving only charred metal fragments from the explosion, and oddly enough, the smoldering remnants of John and Corey where the bench seat of the Ranger should have been. In what could have been only minutes, or possibly even days, carrion birds found the site of the slaughter and began their dining, picking away at the charred remains of the duo. Eventually, the birds that had gorged themselves on the remains of our heroes exploded in what seemed to be a heavenly fury, the Sonz still taking their revenge on the disbelievers even in death, and even against the animals. A lone figure approached the wreckage, and salvaged the only items that remained of the doomed Sonz of Mojo. The figure donned John's famous hat, and brushed the ashes from Corey's SoM jacket, sliding his arms into the sleves and shrugging his shoulders to adjust the fit. A holy light came from above, illuminating the figure. To the untrained eye, you'd think that this was the same person that you would find in the driver's seat of the DBSC on any given day, but you'd be wrong. This was the Sloth. He used to answer to the name John, but that persona was now dead, a smoldering wreck of ashes and body parts sitting in what used to be a holy vehicle. The illumination that revealed this figure began to sparkle a bit, and the unmistakable voice of Yampu came from above and spoke to Khazan itself. "This is my new enforcer. Like the pheonix of legend, John has risen and become not a bird of fire, but a Sloth of Justice. He will now traverse the lands and smite the unbelievers, converting those willing. The smiter formerly known as John shall now answer to Sloth, and is now the lone enforcer to my ways." Sloth took a look around, and opened the door to his vehicle of Justice, a 1974 International Scout, a powerhouse of holy fury and steel. He shifted the three-speed transmission into first gear, let his foot off the clutch, and rumbled away to do the job he had been given.

Character Personality
Sloth is like John in every way, personality wise, with the exception of the fact that Sloth hates to waste words. If it can't be expressed in a well placed grunt, it probably doesn't need to be said. Everything else that needs to be said comes with a side order of PAIN.

Powers and Abilities

Fury of the Monkey

Power: Natural Weaponry
Level: Supreme
Advantage: Multi Attack Attack can hit multiple times during one strike.
Weakness: Multi-Use
Sloth is the newest herald of Mojo, or the newest Son, as it were. With this responsibility comes the joy of doing what comes naturaly to Sloth: Mangling. Being the reincarnation of John, he is more or less the essence of what drove John during his smiting days, and that was the pleasure he got from smiting the unbelievers. Being the manifestation of John's smiting ways, he's a natural at the fine art of combat. Granted strength and prowess only a follower of Yampu could command, he attacks his enemies with a ferocity that seethes from his being. His entire body can be used as a weapon, to the point where he himself is a killing machine capable of punching the front of your skull, and making your eyes pop out the back. Only one man can stand before the fury that is Sloth's attack, and that man is John.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

John's hat

Power: Eldrich Blast
Level: Supreme
Advantage: Area Effect This attack causes damage in a large, circular area.
Advantage: Seeker Ranged attack hunts target.
Advantage: Ranged and Melee Attack! Attack is equally effective at range and up close.
Advantage: Multi Attack Attack can hit multiple times during one strike.
Weakness: power in item - Hard to Lose item
Weakness: One Use
With the taking of John's mystic hat, the power was transferred from one SoM to another, and in that transfer, the power that the hat had been imbued with mutated. Taking on a more appropriate use for the wearer of the headgear, Sloth's hat assumed an offensive stance as opposed to the defensive position it was used for with John. Feeding on frustration and rage, mostly fueled through John not winning a fight, the hat acts as a failsafe. The rage builds up inside the hat, keeping Sloth safely in a range where he can effectively fight hand-to-hand without losing focus. When the rage gets to a certain level it expells that energy to keep itself from incinerating, thus causing one hella fireball that would make Hiroshima look pretty inviting.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The SoM Jacket

Power: Damage Shield
Level: Superior
Advantage: Area Effect This attack causes damage in a large, circular area.
Weakness: power in item - Hard to Lose item
Just as the hat's powers mutated to form more of an offensive weapon than the defensive sheild that John had utelized it for, Corey's SoM jacket works the same way on Sloth, simply taking a more active approach. Rather than feeding on rage or anything of that nature, the jacket emits a level of radiation on it's own. While continuing to afford Sloth the same protection it afforded the SoM in their heyday, this manifestation takes it one step forward, injuring potential enemies with it's radiation, assisting Sloth in thier demise. Only in losing the jacket, does it's power leave him.

Yampu's Replacement

Power: Regeneration
Level: Supreme
Weakness: power in item - Hard to Lose item
Weakness: Multi-Use
Yampu and his god-friends are taking a short hiatus. Leaving Sloth in charge may not have been a good call, but he made it nonetheless. Giving Sloth a trinket holding all his godly powers, he's left the fate of the Sonz of Mojo in his hands, which could have been a mistake. Anyway, it wouldn't be prudent for Sloth to be left as a god without some type of power that protects him from dying, would it? Yampu, before leaving, jacked up Sloth's normal healing capabilites to supreme overdrive, making him a hardcore repairing machine. A bullet to the crotch? Piece of painful cake. Shanked with rebar? NO sweat. Trust me, this dude's more durable than tupperware.
