The 2001 Puxico Winterguard show was "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler.

Our soloist, Angel Watson, is now one of the staff for the Puxico Guard programs.
She had the incredible task of conveying the sorrow of a woman in love.

We had an incredibly young guard last year with 75% of the guard being in seventh and eighth grade, so when we came in fifth place for Regional B at MCCGA Championships, we were understandably upset, but we also knew we had lots of years together to make the guard program prouder than we already were.

There are two funny things about that season, one, that we never performed the same show twice, it was always changed before the next performance, and two, we increased by 30 points over the course of the season.  With mostly JH kids, the staff was ecstatic.

That show will always have a place in all of our "Hearts".

"Turn around,
Every now and then I get a little bit lonely and you're never comin' 'round.
Turn around,
Every now and then I get a little bit tired of listening to the sound of my tears."
