Getting started as a Civil War Re-enactor |
![]() |
Civil war re-enactors have a unique bond to each other. We think of each other as family. Civil War re-enacting presents many opportunities to not only gain a first person experience of the Civil war, but it also gives many opportunities to meet life long friends, who stay with youin and outside of Civil war re-enacting. |
THE FIRST INITAIL PURCHASE: The "basic necessities" of reenacting usually consists of what is needed to get on the field. The starting cost for re-enacting can be anywhere between $800-$1000.00 (This is a very expensive hobby, at first). The 145th PVI Company A does not expect you to run out and purchase everything you need all at once, but we do ask that within the close of the first year of re-enacting you have the basic things needed to get on the field. The starred items are those that can be borrowed from other re-enactors who may have extras, until the time you can purchase your own. |
