Welcome to "Parents Without Custody" (PWC). PWC is not an organisation or club. If the demand is high it may evolve that way if people wish, but for now it is simply a place where people can come to talk and share their lives. Non-custodial mothers are a very small minority and as such is often greatly misunderstood. This has not been helped by media stereotyping of a non-custodial mother as a selfish woman who abandons her children (normally for a man) without a backward glance. In the majority of cases, this is not true. Over time I have also talked to non-custodial fathers and I realized they often are in the same boat. They are often not considered "natural" parents! So both sides need to have an image change, but that will take a long time.  Until then, I hope this website can help non-custodial parents to feel they are not alone.... So all are welcome here at PWC. You may be a mother without her child/ren, either through choice or by legal requirements. Or you may be a father without his children for similar reasons. Or you may have lost a child through adoption or death. Or you may not be any of these. All are welcome so long as you are visiting in the spirit of the site. This site is open to all, but is based in Australia. No judging, name calling, or small mindedness is allowed. Love and acceptance are the only rules. Hopefully this website will become a forum for all those who feel they have no voice.
