You are Kyle Katarn, once a mercenary that found a temple called "The Valley of the Jedi".  Upon entering this temple, the center of the room unveiled a mystical beam of light.  Stepping into it gave him the ability to wield the force.  The mercenary became a Jedi Master, but which side he chose was up to him.  After tampering with the force he decided to shut it out forever and once again became a mercenary alongside his partner Jan.  Little did he know that Jan would be captured by a Dark Jedi and force Kyle to return to the Valley of the Jedi to gain the force again.  Unfortunately, he is followed to the Valley and minions of this Dark Jedi use the Valley to gain the force.  Kyle's journey only just begins as he becomes a man on a mission to rescue Jan, and save the universe as a Jedi Outcast.
