ICW's Lethal Lottery, January27th,2006 at the Tacoma Elks Lodge in Tacoma , Washington
By Jeff Walker
The evening started with Commissioner Ken Hamblin spinning the wheel and making the deal for each of the night's matches. After that, the matches began and here's what happened in order:
Sonny Omara returned to the ring (after open-heart surgery, no less!) and was involved in a 3-way dance with Jason Jackson and Mike Santiago. Jackson emerged victorious in this one.
Next up, Avalance defeated Veteran Ritchie Magnett in a bloody chain match. Magnett may be old, but he put up a hell of a fight, and this match wasn't as one-sided as many thought it would be.
Following that, man-monster Chino made quick work of Sex Ed. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I wouldn't be surprised to see Chino in the WWE or TNA someday. But for now, he has a title shot for the ICW world title next month!
In the Icw Tag-Team Match, which was a thumbtack match to boot, Sloth and Chunk were able to win the belts! They defeated Chef Hassa Akbahr and Abdullah Nahal in a bloody encounter. The thing was, though, Abdullah left Chef alone to get beaten to a pulp. Abdullah returned and started punishing the Chef for losing the belts. The Chef demanded a match against Nahal at next month's event, and Hamblin granted it. (The Chef turned babyface by the end of the night.)
After that, Marvelous Matt defeated Rad in a tables, ladders, chairs match in which none of the tables would break! Great high-flying action, though.
The final match of the evening saw Tim Flowers defend the ICW Heavyweight Title in a lumberjack match against his former Old School cronies: Mr. GQ and Mike Falcone. Flowers won quite convincingly. Don't know if Flowers is turning babyface yet, but Team Old School looks to be kaput!
The crowd was really into it, and was between 100-200 people. An excellent showing to start off 2006! |
