June 25th, 2005  B&I Marketplace , Tacoma, WA  (Steve Strout)
The ICW and B&I Marketplace in Tacoma, joined together for their annual canned food drive in Tacoma, in what turned out to be a great show, as are all the ICW shows.  You couldnt have asked for a better day. Nice weather, excellent wrestling, and a great cause. I personally enjoyed myself, and had the chance to meet a legend. On hand to meet the fans, was none other than the Honky Tonk Man, who is arguably the best Intercontinental Champ ever. I had the chance to chat with him for a few minutes, and he was nothing but friendly. It was an honor.
Anyways, lets talk about the show.  As usual the stars of the ICW entertained the crowd with their exciting matches...including, Vinnie V scoring a victory over sloth (of course it wasn't a clean pin for Vinny, which is par for the course with him),  Big Wood over the Avalanche (2 big ol' boys going all out. that was a fun one),and  The Chef defeating Mr. GQ, after a hard fought match, that included the highlight of the show as far as im concerned, when the Chef, hit GQ with an awesome moonsault that had the small , but lively crowd going nuts! It was impressive.
Overall it was a great card, but the match of the day was the 6 man, featuring Rad, Randy "the Pimp" Taylor, and Marvelous Matt, taking on ICW champ "streetfighter" Tim Flowers, and the tag champs of Jason Jackson and Mike Santiago.  Before the match got underway though, Tim Flowers had a few words for The Honky Tonk Man, who was ringside signing autographs for the fans.  He was calling HTM a coward, and pretty much every other name in the book, which HTM took exception to, but couldn't do anything about, because he is still under suspension and cant wrestle in Tacoma for another month. It's ok though, HTM will get his hands on the "Streetfighter" in September, when he gets a title shot in Tacoma, which I will definitely not miss. We will let you know more about the upcoming event as soon as we get more info.
Anywyas, back to the match. Flowers and his team pretty much kept control of the match with their constant rulebreaking. The pretty much worked over the much smaller Matt and Rad, by cutting off the ring and not allowing them to get the veteran , Taylor, in the action.  The youngsters perserveared and stayed strong, and eventually pulled out what was probably an upset over Flowers, Jackson, and Santiago. The new ICW stars ( Santiago, Matt, and Rad) were totally impressive. I havent had the opportunity to see Santiago or Matt wrestle before and they were great, with tons of potential. I was most impressed with Rad. I had seen him in a match last year, and the improvements he has made since then are astounding. Those new guys have unlimited potential, and I am excited to follow their careers closely.
Overall, this was a great event. If youre ever in the great state of Washington, and get the chance to see an ICW event, I wouldnt miss it. Bring the whole family along as well. Thats it for this "on the road" report. See ya at the matches.
