Welcome to Breastfeeding Matters. This site is dedicated to promote Breastfeeding and Attached Parenting. It offers support to families with mothers who are beginning their nursing relationship with a new baby, dealing with the many difficult situations that may surface throughout the breastfeeding relationship, toddler nursing, or weaning. It promotes the gentle side of nurturing parenting.
"I decided to create a web site about Breastfeeding because I want to help support mothers everywhere to nourish their precious children. I personally suffered many problems after the birth of my first daughter with regards to nursing, and with my second daughter, I suffered a few more I hadn't before. I simply want to offer others who may be suffering similar problems some support, hope, encouragement and information. I am very passionate about Breastfeeding, and nursed my first daughter for over 2 years. She self-weaned at that time. I am currently nursing my second daughter, who is just over a 2 years old old now. The bond of Breastfeeding is the most incredible feeling you will ever experience in life, next to childbirth, and I want this site to reflect that. Here you will find beautiful personal stories written by nursing mothers everywhere, including myself, and be able to browse the many links I continually research. There are many well written articles about the many issues and aspects of Breastfeeding. I am also learning more in my own personal life just how vital attachment parenting is in raising my own children. I've recently begun my personal journey in becoming a Lactation Educator through CAPPA . A long term possible goal is to become a Lactation Consultant. I have created new sections for work at home mom-made products, as well as others, and books. I always try out the products and books I feature on this site. From slings and nursing clothing to cloth diapering, you can find many wonderful companies that sell these items listed here as well as my personal views on their products."
