The earliest record of Pyrants (spelled Pyrant)is from the parish register of Saint Peters, New Kent County, Virginia. In 1662 John Pyrant was born, his mother and father are unkown for now. John had a daughter named Mary in 1697, who eventually married William Easley around 1725. There are several other references to Pyrants in New Kent County Virginia, It is stated, "James son of James Pyrant baptis, the 27 Aprill, 1701" and eight lines later, "Wm son of James Pirant baptis, ye 28 March, 1703."
