THE NIGHT IS NEARLY OVER!
Romans 13:12 "the night is nearly over, the day is almost here"
There are many things God has promised you that you are yet to see.
Maybe you have waited for so long for those dreams he has planted in
our heart to come to pass. Perhaps for some of us it has been like we
have been going through the night of life - when everything seems to
have come to a standstill. A time of darkness, and of unfulfilled
expectations. Perhaps you have even been feeling like giving up
lately.
Well listen now to what God is saying. He said "the night is nearly
over". What a message of hope! Think about it. He is telling us that
it is not the right time to give up if we have come this far
because "the night is nearly over". I don't know how long you've been
going through what you are going through but God says "the night is
nearly over". We must persevere to the end because "the night is
nearly over". We must pray on and not throw up our hands now because
the night is almost over. Now, it doesn't matter if all you can see
for now is still the darkness. God's word says the night will soon be
over. Someone once said that the darkest hour of the night is only
one hour before dawn. So don't be moved by the fact that things are
getting darker, because God's word cannot be broken.THE NIGHT IS
NEARLY OVER! Hallelujah!
But he also says, "the day is almost here". Then we not just to sit
down and wait for the night to be over. There is work to be done. We
must get ready for the day. We must use the night to prepare for the
day. As missionaries in remote villages, we often had to do long
treks for which we had to wait for the first break of daylight before
setting out into the dangerous bush. What we learnt then was to wake
up while it was still dark and do all our preparations and dressing
ups so that we would be fully ready to move when the dawn comes.
In the same way, beloved, though it may still be dark all around you,
yet it is time to wake up from discouragement, self-pity, fear, guilt
and that sin that easily besets us. It's time to get ready for the
day. We must dress up our inner man and have him "clothed ...with the
Lord Jesus Christ...not think about how to gratify the desires of the
sinful nature". We must do away with every form of spiritual
childishness in our life and begin to position ourselves to enter
into the promises of God for our life and ministry. Because "the
night is nearly over and the day is almost here" . It is coming.
Beloved, God is about to do something in your life. He wants you to
prepare. Come on, get ready, get ready!
That all the nations may praise him,
