CHAPTER
II
Set Your Affections on Things Above
II Corinthians 5:18-21; All things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, 19. God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. 20. Be reconciled to God. 21. For HE HAS MADE HIM TO BE SIN FOR US, who knew no sin; THAT WE MIGHT BE MADE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM.
Ephesians 2:4-6; Who is rich in mercy,
for His great love wherein He loved us. 5. EVEN WHEN WE WERE DEAD IN SINS, HATH
QUICKENED US TOGETHER WITH CHRIST (BY GRACE ARE YOU SAVED)) 6. AND HAS RAISED
US UP TOGETHER AND MADE US SIT TOGETHER IN HEAVENLY PLACES IN CHRIST JESUS.
Colossians 1:13-17; Who HAS DELIVERED US OUT OF THE AUTHORITY (POWER AND DOMINION) OF DARKNESS AND TRANSLATED US INTO THE KINGDOM OF HIS DEAR SON. 14. In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15. WHO IS TH IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD, THE FIRSTBORN OF EVERY CREATURE: 16. FOR BY HIM WERE ALL THINGS CREATED, that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things ALL THINGS WERE CREATED BY HIM, AND FOR HIM; 17. HE IS BEFORE ALL THINGS, AND BY HIM ALL THINGS CONSIST.
Colossians 2:10; WE ARE COMPLETE IN HIM. 12. BURIED WITH HIM IN BAPTISM, WHERIN ALSO YOU ARE RISEN WITH HIM THROUGH THE FAITH OF THE OPERATION OF GOD, WHO HAS RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD. 13. AND YOU BEING DEAD IN YOUR SINS AND THE UNCIRCUMCISION OF YOUR FLESH, HAS HE QUICKENED TOGETHER WITH HIM, HAVING FORGIVEN YOU ALL TRESPASSES; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, AND TOOK IT OUT OF THE WAY, NAILING IT TO THE CROSS.
3:1-3; IF YOU THEN BE RISEN WITH CHRIST, SEEK THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE ABOVE, WHERE CHRIST SITS ON THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD. 2. SET YOUR AFFECTION ON THINGS ABOVE, NOT ON THINGS ON THE EARTH. 3. FOR YOU ARE DEAD, AND YOUR LIFE IS HID WITH CHRIST IN GOD. 14. WHEN CHRIST, WHO IS OUR LIFE, SHALL APPEAR, THEN SHALL YOU ALSO APPEAR WITH HIM IN GLORY.
