Interview with a Hobbit
by Hobbits4DG aka QAMP

The security guard wouldn't let me in to the studios. I wasn't on his list. I asked him if Billy Boyd had arrived, but he said he couldn't tell me, because I wasn't on his list.

I turned away from him. I was of course worried that I had missed my chance to interview Billy for my paper, but my worry didn't last long. Here came Billy in a rented car.

As he stopped at the gate I waved. "Hi! It's me. I'm supposed to interview you for my newspaper."

He raised his sunglasses, looked me over then gave me a smile. "Oh, yeh had to wait out here? I hope it wasn't too long."

I said, "No, I just got here two minutes ago."

"Ah, good!" He told me to get into the car, then the guard let us into the lot.

We parked the car. Then as we walked to the studio, we exchanged a couple of questions and answers.

He stopped at the door. "I'm sorry yeh goin' to have to wait for me to finish these promos, but I thought it was the only way we were goin' meet."

"No problem," I said. "I understand your day is full."

"Oh, no. My day isn't full, not after this. I've decided to cancel my other appointment."

I liked the way he said it, like he really wanted to spend some time with me. He opened the door, wanting me to go in first.

We were soon met by some assistant who led Billy to make-up. I was hoping to ask him a few simple questions while he was in the chair, but I was told I had to wait in the "green room."

I didn't feel like drinking coffee, but I did unfortunately bite into a stale donut. There were some magazines and a monitor showing the empty studio in black and white. I leafed through a magazine and occassionally looked at the monitor only to see a stage hand walking past. I fell asleep and dreamed I was watching the monitor but in my livingroom.

In my dream Billy was making the promo shots like he was supposed to, but then Dom showed up, and later Elijah and Sean were there, too.

They left after a while, then the director told Billy to take off his shirt because they had a certain shirt he was supposed to wear for the next promo.

"Wake up. We're done." The assistant woke me up.
