Projects
Yep, it's time for some projects and updates. If you are registered, you can send us an e-mail and we will give you full support and sponsorship, with a link to your page or several links and a tidbit of information here and there. Please send us an e-mail for project sponsorship by clicking here. Until then, we have some of our own projects:

THE HTCBASIC Compiler
By far the second most complicated project of all: We actually intend to make an EXE compiler. We will have a Shareware version and a Freeware version. If you help with this project, you will get the shareware version for free, with the registration code so it won't expire, so be sure to register - Only registered members and HTCMembers apply for this offer, so register now and get the full benefits of registration! Click
here to register. We need help with EXE file compression and structure - the composition of said files. We also need help with the ASM end of it - please help us with Assembly! Please e-mail us at qbspot@zwallet.com Screenshot - Code   Screenshot - Open Dialog   Screenshot - Loading file...
THE Pascal Tutorials

Tutorial #1 or The unfinished #2. And click here to e-mail suggestions.
Then we have our Pascal home - if you're a Pascal person, go to

I was just doing the usual stuff at QBASIC.TK when I came across this interesting post of a cool-looking game - WOS. Many of you probably already know about WOS. Well, anyways, it's being updated, and it looks like a very interesting project.
I am now hosting this project just for fun. It looks like an exact clone of Zelda (well, almost...) And it's very cool. The only problem is the dizzying use of tiles, but that too is going to change in the final version (date: Late 2004 to early 2005) - a demo version will also come out in April 2004. Most posts, follow-ups, etc, are at
QBASIC.TK, and nowhere else. Until then, nothing else will happen anywhere, really to speak of, so go there for more info! You can actually view posts, etc, here. I posted there but I dunno if I've been replied to yet...
Here are the screenshots which you can see there too:
Screenshots:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8(The map editor).

Of the pictures - "These were all taken with the Gamesa bright palette... They had to be darkened..."

RoA - Reign of Annhilation:
An interesting looking game, a Zelda-like (VERY much like Zelda) 256-color graphics game. It is funny, exciting, and cool. For instance, in the demo, you (Nephrod) are packing in the opening scene, because you are going to go fight some monsters. Your sister comes up and starts yelling at you. "Where are you going?" and then "Just don't die - I can't run this inn alone..." and finally, when your sword breaks, you decide "I guess I'll need a new sword" she says "Just use your own money to buy it, not our money we have saved behind the counter..." which is exactly what you will do - get 600GP from behind the counter in a little treasure box (See
Screenshot 1). As I said, this game (just the demo) is hilarious. One great way to get a bit of money is to go to a two-story house with a woman fretting about her wedding ring (see Screenshot 2). You go to another house and talk to a man who says that she left her ring at his house once, but he doesn't dare take it back for fear of her short-tempered husband. You take it back for him, and she gives you 1000GP. Now you can get a better sword! In fact, I recommend you not buy a sword at the swordshop (Screenshot 3) before getting this money. You'll be able to get a better sword if you wait. I must say I can't wait until this game comes out! I am anticipating it as much as you are. Note: The screenshots a a little blurry due to the fact that I had to enlarge them with MS-Paint. In the actual game, everything is much better. Here's a link to the Home Page of RoA.
