The team for Quarry Bank Thorns first league game was announced Sunday morning and was the following:

There was just Kenny Lee missing for the first league game due to injury.
It was a dream start for the Thorns taking the lead after about 2 minutes through Hatty. He became the scorer of Quarry Bank Thorn's first competative goal. Cobham shortly after equalised to make it 1-1 which was abit unfair as we were the better team. Goode restored the lead which was just what we deserved. But once again Cobham equalised shortly after.
Cobham went to take the lead and by half time they were winning 5-2. After going in front twice in the first half by half time we were down by 3 goals.
At half time Russell took me off and brough James on in a straight swap.
Shortly after half time Cobham extended their lead when it looked that their player had fouled Shrimpy the ref did not give it and we were then 6-2 down. Shrimpy Junior scored a consolation goal to make it 6-3.
Russell brough on Ronan for Goode with about 20 minutes to go and shortly after brought Adjei on for Geoghegan.
Cobham scored 2 more goals to make the end scoreline 8-3, with Nick getting on the scoresheet with an own goal. This was a disappointing start of the season for the Thorns but we will all learn alot from this. Dispite scoring the own goal the ref named Nick man of the match.
Next game is against Saltwells Inn in the ADP Challenge Cup at Lion Farm on Sunday 10th September.
