After last week's 1st win this was a crash back down to earth for The Thorns. After an impressive win last week the team lined up as follows:
Shrimpy Senior, Kevin, Murphy, Hagley Nick, Declan, Ronan, Gaz, Geoghegan, Shrimpy Junior, Hatty, Kenny Lee. Subs: Adjei, Goode (for Ronan HT), James (for Declan HT), Ston, Tom (for Murphy HT)
There were 2 changes from the victory against Bartley Green Social Colts. Declan returned from injury in place of Tom and after injury to Connell, Ronan made his first start on the right of midfield.
The game started badly for the Thorns and we were behind shortly after the start. The first half was Hollybush's half with it being 5-0 to them at half time. Kenny Lee had the best chances for us but we were totally dominated.
At half time there was a treble change with Ronan, Murphy and Declan going off and Tom, James and Goode coming on. Hatty moved to right midfield were he was playing some of the 1st half, with Goode going up front. James played left back in place of Declan and Tom played centre back in place of Murpy.
The 2nd half was a better performance but still not good enough with Hollybush scoring 2 more goals to make the score 7-0. Towards the end of the game Hollybush's striker headbutted James and got sent off.
It was a disappointing performance after the victory from last week. Shrimpy Junior was named Thorn's man of the match. Next week we are playing Stechford Star at Britannia Park.
