"I Dreamt a Dream Tonight..." |
One night, I was blessed with two dreams that were somewhat Newsies-related. Both of them are posted here, described in full detail. I've also added in ( ) the reasoning that I've come up with for the parts that sorta make sense. |
The first one began with me sitting on my couch, watching Newsies on the Disney Channel. (I think this was because a friend of mine told me that he would watch it all the time when it used to come on the Disney Channel so much.) It was toward the end of the movie, and I noticed there was more. It showed Spot getting on a train to go somewhere, (this was no doubt because at the end of the movie, it shows him going off in the carriage with Teddy. He had planned to take Jack to the train yards, so why not Spot?) A voice in the background was explaining how Spot's real name was Nelly, (the only way to explain this is to say that maybe I've heard 'Ride Wit' Me' one too many times.) The movie ended. I had just gotten up to leave the room, when I noticed it coming on again. I ran into my bedroom to get a blank video tape. I then shoved it into the VCR and prepared to tape Newsies. I discovered that there was also an additional beginning to the movie. A little gnome-like man came on the screen and started teaching the viewers to do the Charleston. I, however, was preoccupied with trying to decide whether or not to get that part on tape. Brooklyn State of Mind In my second dream, I went on a band trip to New York City. We were given a couple hours of free time to walk around the city on our own. A friend of mine and I decided to try and make our way to Brooklyn. First, we had to pay $10 each to walk across something called the New York Bridge. (I'm not sure if there's really a "New York Bridge" but oh, well.) There were a lot of other people walking across the bridge, too, and we were all in a single-file line. By the time we finally got to the other side, we realized that we didn't have enough time to walk all the way to Brooklyn and still be back on time. So we had to pay another $10 each to walk back over the New York Bridge. When we got back with the rest of the group, we begged our band director to give us longer the next time we were allowed to go off by ourselves. He finally agreed, and the next day we had six hours to wander around. The same friend and I started for Brooklyn. While crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, we yelled "Ahhh!" over the side, and we could see all those old buildings and docks that they show in Newsies. Later that day, we saw a guy who looked just like Spot! He was even wearing the blue shirt with red/pink suspenders. We told him that he looked like Spot, and he said he heard that all the time. [Since that night, I have had countless dreams about the Brooklyn Bridge.] |
And so did I. And what was yours? That dreamers often lie. In bed asleep, while they do dream things true. Ah, then I see Queen Mab hath been with you! -excerpt from 'Romeo and Juliet' |
