Wirre Debatte um Wiener Tageszeitung Tageszeitung "heute"

"Katholizismus: Leiden zum Prinzip erhoben In Summe ist es aber nichts anderes wie der dänische Bilderstreit, nur kulturinhärent vorgelagert. Nach dem Motto: Kritisiere nie fremde Werte, weil auch eigene nie in Frage stehen. Die Aktion des Herrn Unosson ist schädlich, weil sie Toleranz nicht vorlebt. Tolerant sein heißt in diesem Punkt, jedem seine Freude zu lassen. Aber fanatische Katholiken bringen das wohl nicht zu Stande. Sie müssen und wollen leiden. Es soll nur keine Freude aufkommen. Nach dem dänischen gibt es jetzt (seit Febr.2006) offenbar auch einen Wiener Bilderstreit. Stein des Anstoßes wurde folgender, biedermännischer,  ja biedermeyerlicher Leserbrief::

Öffentlicher Brief an die Zeitung "Heute" Sehr geehrte Frau Geschäftsführerin Dr. Eva Dichand, sehr geehrter Herr Geschäftsführer Wolfgang Jansky, sehr geehrter Herr Eigentümer Günther W. Hawranek! Betreff: Bitte entfernen Sie die erotischen Bilder aus Ihrer Zeitung! "Heute", die als Gratiszeitung an den Wiener U-Bahnstationen aufliegt und von allen Passanten, auch Kindern und Jugendlichen, gelesen wird, veröffentlicht täglich eine erotische Abbildung einer nackten Frau (oder eines nackten Mannes). Wir meinen, dass solche Bilder in einer Nachrichtenzeitung die Gesellschaft in eine falsche Richtung beeinflussen. Vor allem Frauen (aber auch Männer) werden immer mehr nur als Sexobjekte gesehen und behandelt (gehandelt). Die Veröffentlichung dieser Bilder ist ein Schlag ins Gesicht für alle, die die Öffis benutzen, die weder als Sexkonsumenten noch als Sexobjekte behandelt werden wollen. Wir wollen auch unsere Kinder von solchen Einflüssen (schlechte Vorbilder) schützen. Wir fordern Sie daher auf, diese Bilder aus der Zeitung zu entfernen! Wien am 1. Februar 2006 Mag. Die DOORS-Coverband ''Riders on the storm' (Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, Ian Astbury) spielen heute vollmondabendnacht ( herzlichen Gruß an alle Sperma- und Eispringer! ) im Tempodrom, 48 € kann ich mir als BerufsObdachLooser (und Spaß dabei!) nicht leisten, und will ich auch gar nicht, denn der Zwiespalt zwischen James Douglas Morrison und Ray Manzarek ist der gleiche wie der zwischen MIR (Shalom!), Karl-Ludwig Poggemann, und dem Wirtschafts-Magister Johannes Unosson. Außerdem  hab ich heut' gründonnerstagsabend  (Montezuma contra  den Gekreuzigten!) noch einen RedaktionsTermin beim 'Forum der Nichtarbeit'....... KLP am  13. April 2006

"Christianism"

People who believe in the Gospels of Jesus Christ are Christians. People who use the Gospels of Jesus Christ for political gain, and for a political program of right or left, are Christianists. And Christianism, like many "isms", is an ideology that will corrupt faith and poison politics. It has already done both, under the auspices of this president and his acolytes. It is long past time that real Christians took their faith back from these political charlatans. One first step is to deny them the name that they have so artfully coopted. It starts with language. And then there’s Brian Godawa, the writer and director of “The Wall of Separation,” who is an even more interesting character. Godawa did movie reviews for a time for the Chalcedon Foundation’s Web site. Those of you who follow religion and politics will recognize Chalcedon as the nerve center of Christian Reconstructionism, the most militant wing of the Religious Right. Godawa also was a featured speaker at the American Vision’s “2006 Worldview Super Conference,” a Reconstructionist event. Reconstructionists detest democracy and hope to usher in a fundamentalist Christian theocracy in America based on their reading of biblical law. They are best known for seeking to impose the harshest penalties of the Old Testament penal code: the death penalty, for example, for gays, adulterers, fornicators, witches, incorrigible teenagers and those who spread false religions. ..... Promotional material for the program at the Boulevard Web site suggests that it promotes a radically revisionist view of church and state. “The Wall of Separation is a metaphor deeply embedded in the American consciousness,” the company observes. “Most of us take for granted the idea that politics and religion should not be intermixed because of the heritage of The First Amendment in our understanding of freedom of religion. The No Establishment Clause has protected us from the entanglement of religion with government, and the Free Exercise Clause has secured the right for all faiths to engage in their religious practices without interference from the state. America is a religiously pluralistic culture guided by a secular government.” That sounds pretty good. But then the Boulevard promo takes a troubling turn. “…[W]hat would surprise most Americans,” it asserts, “is the discovery that this is not what the Founding Fathers of our country intended when they established our nation and wrote the Constitution and Bill of Rights. They in fact had a radically different definition of establishment and the role of religion in state and federal governments than we do today. So radical, in fact, that some say the modern understanding of the role of religion in the public square is exactly the opposite of what the Founders intended.” So Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and others among the nation’s founders didn’t intend a “religiously pluralistic culture guided by a secular government”? That’s totally wrong and very much in keeping with the Religious Right’s spin on America’s founding.

YES, add my name to the petition safeguarding separation of church and state and protecting religious liberty. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." This constitutional guarantee is often known as the "first freedom."
