About Us
Or, "Why I Even Bothered to Make this Comic".

There's a good reason I chose to make this comic. It's beyond me at the moment, though. Possibly it was because I was bored. Possibly it was because I was trying to be funny. Possibly it was because I had written two other comics before and had enjoyed them. (Their names were "Mr. Malagasy" and "Blacky and Mask", and I have currently not put them up on this site, although I might do it someday.)

Okay...the real reason was, I was bored. I came up with the idea for this comic one night when I couldn't sleep and I was trying not to use meletonin (I don't care what they say, anything that comes in a pill is unnatural). I had also been thinking about webcomics and how fun they are to do. I was thinking up good premises for webcomics, and I realized that my two previous ones were "Odd Couple" sorts of things, which I find very funny (especially if one of them "lives in a dream"). The very next day, I wrote the first episode of Sparks. Hence, Sparks came into being.

By the way, a little bit of trivia about the comic might be interesting, so I'll put it here anyway. With the exception of Keith, everybody has the first and last name of a famous rocker. Rob Taylor's name comes from Robert Plant and Roger Taylor. Keith's name comes from Keith Moon from the Who (though I suppose you could also work it as being like Keith Richards, or even Roger Keith Barrett if you must, but that's going a little far). I chose the name Sparks because it sounded cool and it worked for the character (plus it's an actual last name, as author Nicholas Sparks proves), but it bothered me because it didn't fit in with the theme of rockers' names. Then I realized: Sparks could refer to that one song from Tommy (that famous album that the Who wrote). And there you have it.
