HOME
       MINERS
D'you know the power, you had back when
The cow won outright, but even then
You won on points, the fruits of which
Helped later on, to dethrone the bitch
Men by their thousands, woke up from their dream
To political awareness, found new self esteem
No longer the blind, who vote for the blue
They re-joined their flock, and owe it all to you

The fight you fought, for justice alone
To the point of losing, your job and your home
To have found your faith, not in houses or cars
But in hearts and principles, someday even laws
You came thro the struggles, the truncheon blows
Faced government might, the sorrows and woes
The feebled-minded, and their contrary views
The press at your throats, with their treacherous news.

And look at how proud, you all now are
Heads held high, revered from afar
Strike action as that, is hard to choose
Such people as you, should not ever lose
King Arthur has suffered, great humility
His acts of defiance, are for all to see
They attacked him with force,  to lessen his might
Yet thro all that pain, kept his goal in sight
Tame the beast.
Your courage of conviction, the unity displayed
The ones who deserted, by now - they'll have paid
How alone they must feel, opposing their brother
We are all ONE, here for each other
They knew not what they did, fear stole their heart
For the sake of the future, you brothers can't part
Embrace them once more, forgive them your pain
For you're not beaten men, but men born again.

To the Union I say, hold fast your stand
Forget not your brother nor this black land
Your strength now returns, help comes from afar
For you may have lost the battle, but you're set to win the war
When you next hear that spirit, sound forth its call
Know might is in numbers, for the future of all
This tribute's to you, the  miners who sigh
All for one and one for all, this Union will ne'er die.
