| Written on the back of a post card photo: "DORTHA" age 12 OCT 7th, 1926 taken Dec 24, 1926 and the name "Ada Massie" On the front of the photo is a studio name: Sprecklen Webb City, MO Webb City, Mo is in Jasper Co. My father and cousin Debbie Miller Borrowman confirmed by telephone on September 25, 2000, that Ada Massie lived in Oronogo, MO, with Orville Massie and he was a minor who worked in Jasper Co., MO. Debbie's father and my father's oldest brother John Boyd Miller went by train to Oronogo to visit Ada Massie, with their mother Olive VanBuskirk Miller. Ada D. Cecil VanBuskirk Massie was the mother of Olive. It appears Dortha was the child of Ada and Orville Massie but know one in the family knew of her until we found this photo in my father's belongings. More research needs to be done. Welcome Dortha.... |
