Jane HILL SEAGO, wife of Jasper N. SEAGO, filed a pension claim, as a widow, on July 8, 1890, while living in Waynesville, Pulaski Co., MO. I was hoping to find information on my orphaned grandfather, James S. Hill and his parents, William A. Hill and Sarah Lenora "Nora" Rutherford.  There was no mention of William, Nora or James Hill, although Jane was living near her orphaned 10 year old nephew, James S. Hill in Pulaski Co., MO. According to my grandfather, he was raised by an Aunt Jane and Uncle Jasper. This record proves that Jane Hill and Jasper Seago, were near my grandfather in Pulaski Co., MO., when he was supposedly oprhaned by his parents.

Jasper Newton SEAGO died June 14, 1883 in Pulaski Co., MO.  A search of the cemetery records in Pulaski Co., MO., did not reveal a gravesite for Jasper; however, he may be buried in an unmarked grave.

Jane's full name is stated as Malinda Jane Hill, in affidavits from persons who knew
her in Green Co., IL. Her marriage record is included and it states Jasper N.
Sego married Miranda J. Hill, August 29, 1871 by William Seago, Minister of
God, in Greene Co., IL.

On one form,  a V.B. HILL signed as witness, leading me to believe that possibly other Hill's in Pulaski Co., MO., may very well be connected. There is no affidavit from him in the file.

There was no mention of William or James S. Hill. There were affidavits from mid-
wives and doctors who delivered Jane and Jasper's 4 children:

Harvey Seago b. Dec 11, 1873, Kane, Green Co., IL
Alice Seago b. Jan. 10, 1876, Kane, Green Co., IL
Jehu Seago b. Apr. 18, 1878, Kane, Green Co., IL
Jasper Seago b. Nov. 23, 1883 Waynesville, Pulaski Co., MO

Jane Hill Seago remarried a
Plaque? by June 20, 1893 and was still living
in Pulaski Co., MO. The handwriting on the document is hard to read, and I am not sure of the spelling.

Also, there is a copy of a letter from Assistant Director of Allotment and Allowance Division to Mrs. Alice (Seago)
Kidwell in Noblesville, IN, concerning an allotment from her brother, Jasper N. Sego, who was in the army, dated Nov 4, 1921. I found him in the 1920 census, stationed on an army base in Wyoming.
