Hana Yori Dango

I'm not too sure why I keep watching this particular anime. Maybe because it's a typical soap opera. Once you start watching, you want to know what happens next.

The series focuses on 16 year old Makino Tsukushi. The school she is going to consists of super rich and super snobby students, however her family is considered lower class. The story begins when Makino protects one of her friends from the F4, the four most richest and cutest boys in the school who dominate it with an iron fist. Because of this, they 'red tag' her locker, a mark given to those who the F4 feel needs to be diciplined and punished. The red tag turns the entire school against her. And in turn she red tags the F4, saying she will not back down and will stay and fight. You go girl!

The series can be a bit slow but definitely worth a try.

His and Her Circumstances/Kare Kano

Gee, I have a theme going here for this page. This is about Yukino, a high school girl who is the model student and everyone likes. Yukino is actually the Queen of Vanity. She loves being praised and puts on an act while working extra hard undercover to be this image of perfection. However, one day Arima shows up. A model students himself treading on Yukino's spotlight. Yukino decides it's all out war of defeating Arima. She succeeds only to realize Arima didn't care about the grades, only she did, leaving her a bit depressed and feeling foolish. Later, Arima admits he likes her.

Oh, I don't want to tell too much because this is an excellent series. It's by the director of Evagelion (who did a wonderful job). The show cycles quickly through gut busting laughter to sharp heart felt emotions. This is not your typical romance anime and a high recommendation to anyone (a more mature audience is best).

Marmalade boy

Another soap opera. Again, focusing on a young teenage girl, who's name is Miki. Her parents have decided to get a divorce and switch partners with a another married-soon-to-be-divorced couple they met in Hawaii. Now Miki is not too happy about all this to begin with but then the parents decided they would ALL live together - Miki, her parents, the second couple and the cute son, Yuu, of couple number two. Wait a minute...cute? Well, I think you know where this leads. It doesn't help that Miki's friend Ginta is starting to get starry eyed about her, even though his already rejected her once before!

Voltron

Oh, come on! Admit it. A lot of you out there have grown up on anime and you loved it! Though I must say now I get more of a MST3K kick outta watching this now a days, I still like it. BTW, I am talking of the original not this new CG stuff.

Do I have to put up a description? *sigh* OK, quick and dirty...five mechanical lions, five handsome pilots, and a princess and her planet in trouble. Sounds vaguely familiar to several other series I've watched...(hmmm...Gundam, perhaps?)

I'm putting this one on my list more so I can list a wonderful fanfiction site. The stories are fairly short but makes you feel kind of warm, fuzzy and nostalgic.

That's it for the moment, still gotta a lot to add!
