This fic is definitely an Usako & Mamo-chan love story, just to let you know. Okay, Usagi is 24, Demando and Mamoru are 27. Aghast! Demando you ask? Well, I couldn't resist. He is my favorite villain, but in this fic, he is a very honorable and sweet man. I hope everyone enjoys this. Chapter 2 will be out shortly. *DISCLAIMER: Sailor Moon was created by Naoko Takeuchi and is property of Kodansha, TOEI Animation, Mixxine, Bandai, and DIC Productions. She sat on the floor, cross-legged, her eyes out-of-focus and watery. Her fine, golden tresses, were spread out along her back and the floor. She felt her emotions crashing inside her heart and her inner turmoil was just too much to bear as she gazed blankly at the small 5-year old playing with her stuffed bunny. She felt a tear trickle out of her eye and she inhaled sharply. Then more tears fell from her eyes and she bowed her head, so the child could not see. The small child tossed her bunny up in the air and caught in in her arms. She laughed gleefully. She had red eyes and her pink hair was caught up in two buns just like her mother usually had. Now though, she felt uneasy and she glanced at the figure sitting a few feet from her. She waddled over to her and stood in front of her. "Mama?" the child inquired. Usagi looked up into the sad eyes of her child. Her child, her sweet and lovely daughter. Usagi cried even harder and hugged her tightly. "Mama, please don't cry nomore. I sorry you feeling sad," Chibi-usa told her mother brokenly, as she too started to cry. Chibi-usa was young, but still aware of the fact that her mother was in pain and very sad. She knew why her mother cried and when she thought of him, she wanted to scream and kick everything in sight. It was his fault that Mama was so sad and why Mama never talked to no one 'cept Demando-san. I just want her to smile more like she used to. Poor Mama, Chibi-usa thought. A knock sounded at the door and Usagi out of habit, froze in terror. She shot straight up, clutching Chibi-usa's hand. "No! Go away! Go away!" Usagi shouted in fear, her body trembling. A muffled voice filtered through the thin door. "Usagi-chan! It's me, Demando, not him Usagi-chan!" Demando said loudly. Usagi took a shuddering breath and willed herself to calm down. She walked over to the door and opened it slowly. Demando pushed the door gently the rest of the way, stepped into the hallway and closed the door behind him. He opened up his arms, his silver eyes softening. Usagi rushed into his arms and buried her face in his chest, sobbing quietly. Demando rested his chin on top of her head and just held her. He felt a small tug on pants and looked down to see Chibi-usa. He knelt down, taking Usagi with him and enfolded the both of them in his arms. As he tried to soothe them, he thought of how things had been different before. He remembered it as clearly as he remembered yesterday. Usagi and him had been the best of friends all through childhood, up until now. They had laughed together, cried together, and gotten into trouble together. The bond they held was very strong and dependable. Demando had fallen in love with Usagi long ago, but knew that she did not return his feelings. She only thought of him as her guardian and best friend. He had decided that he would always love only her, and that even though she did not love him, he would always stay near her side to make sure that she was happy and so he could protect her, if the need ever came. It was bittersweet, but Demando accepted it quite happily. Just to be able to bask in the sunshine she exuded was enough to make him content. But that most of that sunshine was destroyed when she married Kunzite Kigai. Things had seemed picture-perfect at first. 'Til that bastard started beating her, Demando thought, fury boiling in his body. If I ever see him again, I will do much more than I what I did last time. "Usagi-chan...shhh. It will be alright. Dry your tears," Demando told her gently. Usagi raised her head and looked at Demando, then her daughter. She stood up and made Chibi-usa stand up. Demando also followed her lead. Usagi held her daughter's hand and looked her straight in the eye. "I love you more than anything Chibi-usa. More than anything darling. I'm so sorry that I've been so weak. We have to stop crying now and try to be strong, okay? Together we'll do it," Usagi managed to say calmly with a small smile. Chibi-usa hugged her mother tightly around the legs and stared up into her mother's face. "Hai, Mama. I love you too. Will you smile more now?" Chibi-usa inquired. "Hai, Chibi-usa. Now, we will try to begin again," Usagi said, her smile growing even larger. "Usagi-chan, I have some good news. Do you remember the other boy we used to play with all the time when we were young?" Demando asked her. "Hai, I do Demando-san. We always had fun together, all three of us. Mamoru-san ne?" Usagi asked, her curiosity blossoming. "Hai, Usagi-chan. My boss just told me today that they were hiring a new employee from the United States and that his name is Mamoru Chiba. Well, I saw him briefly today and he suggested that we all get together and have a picnic or something. What do you think?" Demando asked. He was hoping she would say yes. Getting out more would do her a world of good, instead of staying locked up in the apartment. Usagi's brows furrowed as she thought of whether she should or not. But right then, when she had been crying into Demando's shirt, she realized that she really did have to be stronger, if not for herself, then for Chibi-usa. She did not want her daughter to suffer from the pain that she was plagued with. Why not go out and have some fun with their old friend? It's about time I take control of my own life and start letting Chibi-usa live hers happily. "Okay Demando-san. Let's get together and have a picnic. How about by the lake. It's such a lovely place," Usagi said. "That's the spirit Usagi-chan. I'll call him up right away when I get home and we'll all have fun that day. Okay Chibi-usa?" Demando asked Chibi-usa. "Yay! A picnic! With lots of food and ice cream!" Chibi-usa replied enthusiastically. I wonder how much he's changed Usagi thought. He was such a bully sometimes, always teasing me about my hair. But we had so much fun and he acted like my big brother sometimes, just like Demando-san. Maybe things will change now that all three of us are together again. I hope so. Maybe we can all be happy again. AN: I know...more notes. Gomen ne minna-chan! I couldn't help it.
