| The main bot for #Quizmasters is Quizmaster which is ran by our channel founder Prometheus. The rules that follow were written to match Quizmaster's settings. While the basics of the game remain the same, your score, the time limit to answer a question, and point values of questions may or may not be the same if another trivia bot is filling in for Quizmaster for whatever reason. :) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Since different bots are ran by different people, if you find an incorrect answer, first make sure that it really is incorrect, some questions have more than one answer, and the hints give you a clue as to which answer the bot will recognize as correct. Then find out who is running the bot in question, and report the question with the question number, the incorrect answer, the correct answer, and proof that the new answer is the ONLY correct answer. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 1. Don't ask for ops. WE DON'T NEED ANY MORE OPS AT THIS TIME. Shold we decide to have more ops, we will ask those we want to become ops. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2. Our ops and regulars are a friendly bunch. If you have any questions about IRC in general, or just about anything else on your mind, feel free to ask them in the channel. If any of us know the answer, we'll be glad to help. But keep in mind, some of us have 24/7 internet connections, so if no one answers it's NOT us being rude, it's just that no one is at their keyboard at that moment. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 3. Excessive flooding (even for trying to guess the answer to the current trivia question) will NOT be tolerated. This also includes, but isn't limited to, overuse of the trivia bot commands. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 4. For the most part, we like to run a clean channel. While we realize that some of us use foul language on an everyday basis, try not to let it get out of hand in the channel. Excessive use of foul language could lead to you being kicked or even banned from the channel. Each op has his or her own definition on what is "excessive", so, if you must curse, keep it to a minimum. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 5. Do not harass the ops or other users in the channel. Doing so is one of the fastest ways to earn a permanent ban. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 6. If you are being harassed in private by a user on our channel, please inform and op and /ignore that person. If you take offense to something someone has said in the channel, please politely ask that person privately to stop, and if that doesn't work privately inform an op of the situation, and we'll do the best we can to handle it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 7. Automated Spam (advertising) of ANY kind will NOT be tolerated. If you do get spamed in private please wait before reporting it to an op. Most likely, the ops were spammed as well and at least one of them is doing something about it. However, if after you have waited a couple minutes and the spammer is still in the channel, feel free to report it to an op. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 8. Cheating of any kind is frowned upon. Cheating includes, but is not limited to, using a search engine to look up the answers (otherwise known as Googling), searching channel logs or your own copy of the trivia files, etc... Although the trivia is just a game, we like to inspire a sense of fair play. So, if you are suspected of cheating, you risk being banned from the channel. If you suspect another player of cheating, please do not accuse him or her openly, instead /msg an op and they will look into the matter. |

| 9. In the trivia game spelling counts. Don't whine about it :) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 10. And, last, but certainly not least. Always remember, we're here to have fun chatting with each other and playing trivia. The trivia is just a game to most of us, and although we may joke about being upset about something, we don't take it seriously, you shouldn't either. :) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
