In December of 2003, The Chumlies broke up. Disillusioned, Alex, Greg, and Ethan almost went separate ways. Alex decided to study to become a priest while Greg and Ethan tried to form a rap-metal band called Theory of a Downfall with their names as G-Money Crunk and DJ Silly Spins, respectively. However, punk rock called them back into the business. Alex gave up religion due to his not liking to screw children as well as being an atheist. Ethan sold his turntables and Greg cut off his dreadlocks. They then set out to make some music based on their favorite stuff, like The Clash, The Misfits, Darkbuster, The Ramones, and many others. A kid from Alex's neighborhood started following him to practices and sitting in the tree outside Greg's house watching. It was cold one night so they invited him in to warm up. It just so happened he liked the same bands as the guys and could play guitar. This is how Dan joined the band. From there, Ethan got a call from the band Atreyu and took up thier offer on a guitarist. He is now touring the world and making lots of money and bad music. Alex's younger, metal head brother Iggy then joined on guitar, Greg covered the skins, and Alex switched guitars with Dan because...we're not really sure. Anyway, they wrote songs about scenester sluts, drinking, and killing their girlfriends, stuff they could all relate to. R2-Detox has a 4-song EP available at their shows and more recordings to come. |
