Richard Zednik scored two goals to guide the Canadiens to a 6-3 triumph over the Florida Panthers. Randy McKay and Patrice Brisebois both had a goal and an assist for the Habs, now unbeaten in five games under new coach Claude Julien.

Andrei Markov and Mike Ribeiro scored the other Montreal goals while Saku Koivu had three assists. Jose Theodore made 35 saves. Viktor Kozlov, Stephane Matteau and Stephen Weiss tallied for Florida.
