Psalm 25:5 Stephen grew up in a pastor's home. Yet he had to work out his own salvation. He went forward in the first grade. He made commitments at youth camps. He was called to Europe while a student at Liberty University. The summer before he began dating Laurence, God showed him while he was at America's Keswick in New Jersey that France was the specific country that He was calling Stephen to. Stephen enjoyed his time of learning the French language and culture while teaching English to the French. Now he would like to concentrate on sharing God's truth in France in the area of counseling. Why counseling? The first French person Stephen led to the Lord unburdened himself with the shame and hurt he had been carrying for nearly ten years. He had been sexually abused by his grandfather. The second French young man who came to know the Lord through Laurence and Stephen came to them a week after his baptism. He confessed that he was struggling with homosexual tendencies. At both times Stephen felt ill-equipped to deal with these young men’s emotional strain. Both young men were helped and are living victorious lives in Christ, but Stephen feels God leading him to be better equipped for the revival in France. There will be many more men and women who will have suffered horrible experiences. |
